I had a confirmed reservation from Booking.com (all my other reservations with them worked) and arrived to find that "we are full and it is not my fault". No offer to even call a taxi just completely unconcerned that my confirmed reservation was thrown out the window. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Travelled for 5 weeks around Italy, this was by far the best accomodation in Italy.Amazing rooms, bathrooms, great location between the Duomo and Santa Croche. Felt completley taken care of for the 5 day stay there. Highly recommend it. Good value. Can't wait to go back. Cheers, C. Jennings

We stayed in this wonderful place during our stay in Florence. We loved our room Mercurio (Mercurio Magnifico). The rooms are stunning, the service flawless. Even the minibar charges are incredibly fair. There is only one place to stay in Florence for us and this is it ! It does not get any better than this. A truly stunning, spotless,... More

We visited Florence and Palazzo Galletti on our honeymoon. We stayed in the beautiful suite Cerere, and even though we had seen the pictures it was still amazing to enter that room. The fresco's are just gorgeous, it's like sleeping in a museum! We really liked that Cerere had a more private balcony. We had previously spent 1 night in... More

We stayed in 5 hotels throughout Italy. Without a doubt, the Palazzo Galletti was the absolute best. It is a 10 minute walk from the train and five to the Duomo, ten to the market stalls, 15 to the Ponte Vecchio - all of Florence is within walking distance. There is an enormous flight up the stairs, so it's tough... More

We just returned from a 2 week trip to Italy, and stayed 3 nights in Florence at the Palazzo Galletti. We were fortunate to be able to stay in the Cerere suite, which as many here already have commented, is absolutely beautiful. The ceilings must have been at least 15 feet high and the bathroom was extremely large (particularly by... More

We stayed in Suite Cerere for 2 nights in Mid March 07. The attention to detail was amazing in our suite. The smell in the whole Palazzo was gorgeous. The suite was very grand and very beautiful.... it almost looked like a museum. It was very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful. Bathroom was great too with... More

The Palazzo Galletti was the best place we stayed on our trip to Italy. The room was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and the location is close to just about everything! Our room had frescoes on the wall and a nice balcony. Although there was construction in the courtyard, we still enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, drinking the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while we were on our third visit to Florence. A stones throw away from Duomo in a beautifulfly restored 17th Century building, with frescos in the suite rooms. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the price was reasonable for Florence £93 a night for a double room with breakfast. It is also... More

This place is incredible. The fact that it isn't an enormous (and therefore expensive, and BORING) hotel, makes it better. It has a courtyard, and some rooms have terraces! Try finding that at a hotel........ or the incredible artwork - thoughtfully displayed. This place is not just a random room in a building - what you see on the Palazzo's... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
