Stayed in room 304, with a glimpse of the Duomo from the window. The room was bigger than anticipated following other reviews, plenty of space for the two of us (including storage). Fantastic air conditioning! The breakfast was great, plenty on offer and restocked regularly throughout the morning with a range of cold cuts, cheese, fruits and salads, and breads... More

Charming hotel, at 2 minutes of Firenze's heart ! Parking at 50 meters. Price just OK ! Breakfast included, lot of things such as omelette (eggplant), sausage, beacon, scoppa, bakery, orange juice, coffee... Very good breakfast. Good place to stay for cheap.

In a word, beautiful. This place is beautiful. Great central location, walking distance to everything you want to see. Rooms are great size, and very clean. The shutters on the window are a gorgeous touch. The breakfast is delicious and afternoon coffee is a lovely touch

We stayed at Residenza Fiorentina three years ago and gave it an average review. It was just ok, but in a convenient location. Since the AC worked back then, we decided to stay here for one night on this trip, since we were familar with the area and were only spending the one night before moving on to Cinque Terre.... More

Florence is amazing. Full stop. Its the quieter sister of Rome. My trip to Rome a while back was so busy so it was nice to see a more provincial side of Italy. Florence has so much to see and offers a great many ways to see Italy. The hotel is amazing, the location of the hotel is the big... More

For the price this is a great place to stay. The room is on the small side but very comfortable. The only draw back is that the shower is very small. The breakfast which is included with the stay is just great. It is close to the train station and bus station. Most of the sites are within walking distance... More

Stayed at this hotel for four nights in July, in a triple room. The room consisted of a king size bed and a single, and was probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The room was large and impeccably clean. Staff were welcoming and polite and helpful at all times, helping us with booking... More

About a 10 minute from the train station. Must ring a buzzer requesting entrance from two large wooden gothic doors. Staff is pleasant and breakfast was plentiful with many choices. Our traveling companions room flooded shortly after arrival when the shower over flowed enough that the hall flooded as well. Air conditioning is weak and our room was extremely tiny... More

Housed on the second floor of a historic Florentine villa, smack in the middle of town, this hotel is a lovely and quiet oasis from the frantic tourist race that is Florence. The hotel is very clean. Staff is excellent. Our room was no-frills, but the fridge was a bonus, and the air conditioning was a blessing. Breakfast was excellent... More

Room was perfectly fine, just the door was jamming a bit, as the room had gotten flooded by the previous guest. To be honest, there were no real issues. Staff were friendly & helpful. Cosimo & Dario were wonderful. Showed us, where to eat & go! They may need to fix the floor in the dinning area, as the floor... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
