The location is great and the hotel provides parking services nearby. The rooms are large enough for Italian standards, and are clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast offers a variety of foods - all of them delicious. Staff is very helpful and nice.

My husband and I stayed here during our visit to Florence this fall. This was a pleasant surprise for us. The ambience was beautiful and dignified. Upon asking, the hotel manager told us that it was a palace converted to hotel. Although the hotel's entrance had an antique look, the rooms had fresh and trendy design. The hotel location was... While only a 3 star hotel, the rooms are quite modern and have everything you need in them for a short stay. Breakfast could do with some more variety but all in all it's a great hotel. The location is great — only a couple of minutes walk from Ponte Vechio, Piazza di Santa Maria and less than 10 minutes... More

This property is very centrally located and very close the the train station and many of the local sites and monuments. Staff was very helpful and there were no problems with speaking English. The breakfast was very basic but sufficient. The shower was small but the room was generous in space though there was not much draw space.

Very good location and very comfortable room for the price. Breakfast is very simple and should be better. Location is perfect. Staff is very helpful and speak very good English. My biggest complain is slowness of the Internet connection. It is so poor that you really can't get anything more than receiving e-mails.

Clean and basic. Staff lovely and helpful. But not really a hotel? Felt like I had booked a room -adequate but little else. Somewhere to sleep. Don't expect anything else Comfortable bed. Clean fresh towels. Won't starve at breakfast but don't expect any indulgences.

+ No problems with this hotel. Spacious room, comfy beds, relatively quiet, clean, Excellent breakfast, Well placed for central Florence, the train station and bus station. - Shower room was a bit small and an awkward layout, and some shelves or drawers for clothes would be usefull, but these are minor points so I highly recommend.

We stayed for a week in room 306, and honestly couldn't have been more impressed with this hotel! The hotel staff are SO welcoming and extremely helpful, they couldn't have done more. The hotel is super easy to find, right near the train station. I would recommend getting the Terravision bus if you're flying into Pisa as it takes you... More

This hotel is on the second floor in an old palace on a narrow street close to Sta Maria Novella near Florence's city center. We drove here (and driving in Florence is nerve-wrecking), and could unload our car at a garage 50 meters from the hotel, which was practical. Parking fees are steep (26 EUR per day), but are paid... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
