I'm sorry but having just read some recent reviews (and inadvertently said one was helpful, I wanted to say it wasn't) I have to say how difficult some people are to please. Whilst the room wasn't perfect, for example the bathroom architrave had got wet and was swollen...it was spotlessly clean, cool and spacious. Breakfast was also excellent. Lots of... More

we had a room of family of 4. The rooms are big and nice. It is bigger than we expected as we have seen in other Italy cities. It is big enough for the entire family. The breakfast is good with the selection and the service is very friendly.

The embassy hotel was very nice , located close to the station and quite central to local restaurants and sights , the room was very clean pleasantly furnished and kept in excellent condition , hotel staff was accommodating and helpful but particular recommendation should be given to the breakfast lounge staff they were charming , and couldn't do enough to... I don't know why I can't give a 1 star review. As I sit in this room, night 2, dying of heat, this is what we have been through... And I really don't want to write a bad review for a business but honestly I don't want anyone to go through what we are experiencing. At first, you think the... More

We stayed in room 105 for a few days. The room is in desperate need of a remodel. The shower has black mold all over. The mattress was so hard the you can not push down on it. Any review you have read about horrible Wi-Fi is true. We would have to go sit in the courtyard to use the... More

One could not, perhaps, accuse the Hotel Embassy of being flashy, but its understated charm is part of its attraction. Helpful staff, clean and well serviced rooms and, best of all, an exceptional breakfast. The location is out ot the bustling centre but yes, we did have a room with an attractive view, and its only 10 minutes on foot... More

Location was good...short walk from train station, albeit a bit confusing so map it out ahead. Check in was easy. Given a room in the extension so needed to walk outside. Not a big issue as it's short, flat and paved for luggage, and covered (which was good as it was raining during my visit). Small elevator (typical) and very... More

This hotel is tucked away on the back side of the train station so it is a little hard to find. The front desk staff was great. Our room on the first floor had no windows or view so we did not spend much time there. The bathroom had a great shower and the room was small but adequate. This... More

We stayed our 4 nights in Florence at the Embassy. Rooms are comfortable rooms, pretty good breakfast, helpful staff. Location is convenient to train station and walkable to central Florence sightseeing. Recommend!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
