A three night stay as part of city break, had a HUGE room on the front of the hotel with views of the Ponte Vecchio. The air conditioning was great, the bathroom was clean with good water pressure (much needed after a sweaty August day) and big comfy bed (I'm 6'4" - so an important feature). Good value for money...

this hotel is in a fantastic location as it is right on the river, and has a little balcony (off the reception area) that looks out over the Ponte Vecchio and the views are stunning especially at sunset. we had a room with a shared bathroom which was fine for us as there were only 2 other rooms sharing this...

My husband and children 8,18,19 and me stayed in the Bretagna for 3 night in July 2009. The hotel is located 2 blocks from the Ponte Veccio on the Arno river side. The hotel is actually just the second floor of a very antique building. We were very lucky because we one of the rooms we got the number 3...

My wife and I chose this hotel for two reasons: The location was great, right on the river (our bedroom overlooked the Arno) and the price was right. Our room was large but too plain and sterile. The paint on the wall was peeling. We think that we got unlucky based upon pictures we saw of other rooms -- who...

We stayed at this hotel from 14 to 18 May 2009 in triple room overlooking the river Arno. The hotel is situated right on the bank of the river Arno and we had beautiful scenes every morning and evening from our window. This hotel, they say, is 800 years old mansion converted to the hotel, but it had all the...

Hotel Bretagna is around 600m from Train station which you can go there on foot with 10 - 15 mins. The rooms are super BIG with very traditional & elegant decoration!!!!! (almost 3 times bigger than those with similar price!!) There was a promotion with no-refund package for the suite and that is why I chose this. FREE wifi and...

Our recent stay in Hotel Bretagna was while visiting our daughter who was studying abroad. It was very close to her apartment. The front desk was nice at check in and check out. That is all we saw them. The breakfast was simple. The room was large in comparison. You must ask for one of the new rooms. The bathroom...

This is a 19th c. palazzo overlooking the Arno, just down the street from the Uffizi. Staff friendly with good English, rooms clean, breakfast more than adequate. Room size is adequate for sleeping, two having a bathroom down the hall which was always quiet and clean. Revamping of the common areas is ongoing so to be expected. But look at...

I was a little nervous about this hotel after reading some of the reviews. No need to be! My husband and I stayed in one of the non-refurbished double rooms without a bathroom. We never had to wait for the bathroom, and the facilities were clean. The room was small and somewhat dark, but neither of us had any complaints...

I rented two rooms at the hotel for my family of five (kids 17, 15,8) for 2 nights the first week in March. First, note that we are not big hotel folks - a clean bed in a central location is more important than hotel features. We do not think the hotel adds much to travel, although a bad hotel...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
