My wife and I spent 6 nights at ll Bargello B&B arriving early June and loved every moment of it. Gabriela makes you feel at home, she was very helpful in reserving tickets for the Uffizi Gallery for us before we arrived and will email you train tines and any other local information you may need – she will even...

A short walk from the train station, this B&B was a great start on our vacation in Italy. Gabriella, the owner, made us feel right at home. Having grown up here, she was a wealth of knowledge for local eateries. Her cappuccinos were an excellent start to the day with a nice continental breakfast. The 77 steps up to this...

Fantastic place to stay I struggled to believe all the positive reviews but when we got there the hospitality was just great. Gabriella really makes you feel at home. It is also great to get advice on good places to eat as well because without gabriella's help we would not have eaten at such nice places, so whatever you do...

We were attracted here because we had seen many positive reviews on travellers' websites. We were not disappointed. The walk upstairs takes a bit of effort, particularly with heavy bags but the hosts willingly help . There is a rooftop terrace that is a perfect spot to open your own bottle of wine and package of cheeses. A good spot...

Had the opportunity to stay at Il Bargello for two nights while trekking through Italy. Gabriella has done a wonderful job converting the 4th floor of the building to a cozy bed and breakfast. Everything from the breakfast to the location to the company to the rooftop terrace would make us return. Hopefully soon. Gabriella is a perfect host, even...

This was one of our favorite places to stay in Italy! We were there for two nights, but wished we had stayed longer. Gabriella was a great host, always willing to give advice and provide recommendations. The room we stayed in was extremely large for Italy, and the breakfasts were great! Gabriella and her husband did a fantastic job renovating...

We stayed for 3 nights on May 13th, 2006, it was a wonderful experience. The room was clean and Gabriella was a wonderful host who is so attentive to the customers' needs. She realised how important it is for us to keep our precious pictures on file so we will not lose them during our trip, and offered to copy...

Gabriella was the most welcoming host I've met in my many years of travel. Excellent location on a quiet street. Wonderful breakfasts. Very helpful hostess. The room was well kept with a a spacious bathroom. Ask the hostess for restaurant reccomdendations - she is always dead on. I hope to stay here again in the not so distant future.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
