Very hard to find since the ridiculously small sign. When we finally found it there were no one there so we had to call for them. Apparently they had overbooked so we got an other room at an other place. It's a bit further from the city center than the map gave the impression of. Still quite nice.

The staff at this b&b went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. To our every request, they always found a way to say yes. Even for booking the tours around the Tuscan region, they told us we could even tell them the morning itself if we wanted to book it. Loved the place and would definitely return.

My positive experience with this B&B started even before I arrived. While booking the room I made a mistake and booked one night more than I needed. The rate I choose was not refundable and so I didn’t have much hope to get my money back for the extra night. But I still contacted the B&B and explained them my... More

I looked long and hard to find a place to stay in Florence and was thrilled to find this B & B. Since I am a very light sleeper, my friend was very gracious to let me have an inside room. It was a beautiful room, very clean, quiet, spacious, and the bed tremendously comfortable, The breakfast was served on... More

B&B is not far from SMN rail station by taxi or bus. I recommend taxi (at least on arrival). Entrance is marked only by a small sign. Even the taxi driver almost went past it. Very confusing which bus stop to get off, and still a couple of blocks to walk. Room was comfortable, large and clean but very noisy... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and although it was short, it was the most comfortable stay we had since being away from home. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Upon arriving late, we were checked in and the lady took the time to write tips and notes for us on a map including... More

We had a quadruple room. Very comfortable beds and neat and tidy room. The breakfast was adequate and the staff very friendly and helpful. There was a lift, so taking the pram up to 1st floor was not an issue. The location was quite handy with good bus connections to town and station. We would certainly go back.

We arrived by taxi and were greeted by a fellow who did not look or act to impressed to be booking us in. The room and bathroom were clean. That evening we went out to dinner and when we returned there were no lights in the stair case or entrance to the B&B ...Very dark hallway. The breakfast consisted of... More

Dear Shirley! i am very disappointed too to read your review. During your stay you were always smily and happy with everything. You have never said about any problem during your stay, including the light bulbs. We have controlled today, and, in effect, the bulb was burnt and we have immediately changed it. If we don't know in advance the... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
