The Davanzati is situated in easy walking distance of all of Florence's major tourist attractions. The staff, led by Fabrizio, is absolutely wonderful. They know how to take care of their guests, and they try to make visiting the city as easy as possible. Florence is overrun with tourists, so staying in a place that felt like a reprieve from...

This is a small family hotel run by three generations; grandpa is still greeting guests at the tender age of 93! The son and grandsons are wonderful helpful hosts and all the staff is helpful and pleasant in all manner of ways. The location is centrally located for all attractions and the museum and restaurant recommendations were most helpful.

This is a small, family-run hotel in heart of the old city. Lots of amenities. Nice quiet large rooms. Ours had a king bed. Very helpful staff. They will give you advice and guidance and they provide you an iPad for your use during your stay. It has unlimited data and you can take it with you when you're out...

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke perfect English. We were given an iPad mini for the duration of our stay, which we initially thought was a bit of a gimick but actually turned out to be really helpful. As it was equipped with a data SIM we could use it outside the...

We ended a two week trip in Italy with a wonderful stay at the Davanzati. We were delighted with the customer service and attention to detail provided by the wonderful staff. The location is centrally located to all the major sights. Yes, the stairs are a bit daunting with luggage - but its worth the climb and there is always...

This is a great hotel in the perfect location. They offer both a free tea time and a happy hour. We stayed five nights and the happy hour (wine and prosecco) was a real bonus. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. They made reservations for us for the Uffizi and Galleria, as well as for a restaurant. The...

Pretty sure this is the only place I will stay when in Florence, the location is perfect (right near all the main attractions but just far enough away and the service is always first class. The owners are able to answer every question and helped with getting into restaurants, museums and taxis. Several other family members stayed here this time...

We stayed here the first two nights after arriving in Italy. Our room was ready on our arrival (10:30 am) and the welcome was wonderful. The hotel staff was always ready to help. And the location was an easy walk to almost anyplace. Breakfast was served for 3 hours each morning; tea in the afternoon; and happy hour. We recommend...

Hotel Davanzati is lovely, the staff treats guests like family. The afternoon happy hour is a great way to encourage guests to mingle and share experiences. Next time, I would ask for a quiet room vs a room with a view.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

“Room 103 junior suite quirky layout, but very comfortable and large. Facing street, some noise in early am hours even with windows closed.... but was short duration, didn't go on all evening. Wonderful shower, no bathtub; separate toilet/sink area.”
