We had high hopes for our Florence hotel and were disappointed at nearly every turn. The hotel is outdated. Our room was a decent size but the shower was tiny! The bed was about as soft as a rock - we woke up with body aches each morning. The bedroom lighting was awful, we couldn’t hardly see anything. The AC and mini fridge didn’t work. The hotel restaurant was “closed for the season”??? And we dropped off some clothes for washing and were told it would be done the same day. We went that evening to pick them up and were told our clothes wouldn’t be ready in another day - or the day we were leaving. They didn’t seem bothered that was a problem for us. Lastly, our room cam with complementary breakfast. Nearly every morning we went down for breakfast, the area was in shambles. The food was gone, the drinks were gone (including coffee), the tables still had dirty dishes on them, there were no clean cups or dishes...it was pretty unbelievable. Especially considering this was at 7:30 AM...only 30 minutes after breakfast was first available. All in all, we could not wait to get out of this hotel. If you’re looking for a deal...look somewhere else!!! …
The hotel itself is great and well located. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff was very professional and friendly. Only a couple of things they can improve: the room service food was not really good (except their pasta) and housekeeping service could be better; some empty bottle stayed in our room for the whole stay (3 nights) and minibar was not replaced. ANyway we had a great stay, thanks to everyone.
The hotel is a little off the main center. The beds are HARD and not comfortable. The blow dryer did not work well and the bathroom had dust it was nice to have a balcony but the view was not good. The breakfast was ok.
I took one star off my rating because the hotel rooms are very poorly lit. Once the sun went down I had to get out a flashlight even to see into my suitcase. The room we had was small and a bit noisy as it was adjacent to a staircase. The breakfast buffet was just okay, and the least good of four hotels in Italy on this trip. Pasta I ate in the restaurant one night was tasty. This hotel is used by large tour groups.
Upside: location is ok, within 15-30 minutes of most attractions, quiet area. Reception staff are helpful. Breakfast is ok- does the job. Downside: bed base is a wooden slab, and creaks at every move you make. It’s so hard that there is no chance you can sleep in as your back is begging you to get up! WiFi is poor and drops out, room is dated I. Decor-from the 1970’s.
