Clean well maintained and a real value hotel. Classic compact European hotel room. The bathroom is modern, and the room was very clean and straightforward. Small TV and simple furniture. Beds were firm. We had a view overlooking an alley, and we could hear the start of the day. This hotel is a great hotel to use as a base...

This is a lovely, historic hotel which I believe was a family villa built in the 16th Century with large airy rooms, high ceilings, large windows, white and tan marble. Comfortable bed, nice little breakfast and helpful service. Perfectly located, a 5 minute walk from El Duomo. Everything we wanted to see was within an half hour walk in Florence...

Nice little family run hotel in Florence. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and quick to respond to any problems we had. Very central, with most sights in Florence easily accessible from here. Good location in a quieter side street close to the Duomo. Recommend.

Walking into the hotel, I greeted the older gentleman working behind the desk and told him I had a reservation, and he tersely responded, "telling me you have a reservation doesn't mean anything unless you give me your last name!" I then endured fifteen demeaning minutes completing the check-in with him. The next morning, I responded to Expedia's questionnaire about...

Dear Guest, you asked Expedia to cancel your reservation before the arrival. As your rate was not refundable you couldn't cancel the reservation. Maybe this is the reason why you have been very upset since the first moment you stepped in the hotel. We are very sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay with us but I think we coudn't...

Each time I travel to Florence I love staying at this hotel. You are greeted by warm and knowledgeable staff. It is a simple and uncomplicated hotel. Always clean, with a modest breakfast. But it's main benefit is it's great central location. Easy walking distance to every Florence attraction.

We loved our stay here, great size rooms, very clean, the staff are so friendly and helpful, plus a huge comfortable bed! Our breakfast every day was delightful too. This hotel is situated on the doorstop of the Duomo in the heart of Florence. Perfect location! We literally will not stay anywhere else on our next visits to Florence ❤️

Great location. Close to everything. Great rooms, clean quiet. No view but in downtown area everything is right on top of each other. Didn't expect a view but we were only in the room to sleep anyway.

The location of Hotel Benivieni is ideal: the Uffizi, Piazza della Signoria, and many other sights are easily within walking distance, and the Duomo is practically just around the corner. The hotel is in a very old building, but the inside is quite modern. Our room was most comfortable, with a clean, spacious bathroom, adequate armoire space, and a safe....

We were on a bicycle trip in Northern Italy. Every other hotel we used allowed us to store our bikes in our rooms, or inside in a secure storage room. This hotel would not allow us to. In fact the hostess scolded me for even trying to walk in the door with my bike. No pretense to even be gracious....

Dear Mr. Dalton, we are very sorry that your bicycle were stolen. Anyway I had to clarify something. - I's not regulare to walk in the lobby of a city hotel with the bicycle. - I wasn't rude, I just let you know that you couldn't get in with the bike - You have been quiet unpolite and after the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
