I strongly reccomend this hotel. We paid for a double room 29 EUR for one night at this hotel in the heart of Florence at 10 min walking from Palazzo Pitti and 5 min Santo Spirito. Rooms are confortable and clean. Such a great choice! A good buffet for breakfast is included.

Initially I was a bit skeptical, having visited Florence five times (living only three hours away), but this was spectacular. The parking was safe, cheap and w/in the confines of the hotel compound. Bobboli gardens is a five minute walk away and the Ponte Vecchio is about 10 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this stay. If you're looking for... More

What a beautiful place for travellers to stop and rest! Our family of 4 shared a spacious 4 bed room (room 6) with ensuite (2 showers). Our room was charming with large columns, fireplace and a beautiful painted ceiling. The single beds were comfortable, there was a table and chairs and a large wardrobe. Everything was sparkling clean and I... More

I'm glad Trip Advisor allows repeat reviews because Casa Santo Nome di Gesu definitely deserves excellent ratings. Clean room, excellent location, excellent service. This is the only place I will stay at when I'm in Florence.

Our first time in Firenze and we were able to find the convent within 20 minutes from the train station... My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the our stay. There are many nearby restaurants, the safe environment, and they provided a very large room with all that we requested at a very low cost. Need... More

Hello, and thank you for your comments. We are always pleased to hear when guests have had a pleasant experience in the Casa as this is fundamentally our aim, even if our methods are simple! Just to let you know, for your next visit, we do have some plug in mosquito repellents available at reception which are very effective for... More

Old monastery offers an interesting and serene miljö for a stay in Florence. Overall the experience was positive but nothing special. I liked: location (definately the right side of Arno), interesting building, clean rooms, beautiful courtyard with own garden. I was not so impressed with: staff was not very helpfull, ascetic rooms (which kind of fit the bill, because it... More

If you are on retreat and trying to do some penance then this is the place to stay The reception is excellent as is the building and parking. BUT. Our room was not up to youth hostel standards. When we went in the smell was so bad my partner was wrenching and had to leave the room. The hotel (this... More

Dear Whizzie53, We are very sorry that you had such a bad experience at the Casa Santo Nome di Gesù convent. The cleanliness of our rooms is something that we take very seriously indeed especially as we are aware that our rooms are only simply and very traditionally furnished, as befits the Franciscan creed followed by the order of sisters... We stayed 3 nights in this convent/hotel which is situated near Florence's old town and the major sights. Everything is within walking distance. The welcoming staff was very helpful and provides you with a map of the city. They have a private parking spot for a very reasonable price and free wifi which worked well. We had room 13 on... More

This is an old abbey with an excellent location in old town Florence. The accommodations were austere, but very well priced, with enclosed parking for a nominal fee per night. It is within walking distance to all the sights in Florence you would want to see. The entire staff was extremely helpful and able to give a lot of useful... More

Very good location, as the hotel is in the old town, close to the tourist attractions. It is also great to have a parking lot for a relatively small fee. Breakfast is rather average and a room has an austere interior, but on the other hand, it's a unique possibility to spend a night in an old abbey.
