We stayed one night at this nice hotel on our way to our vacation destination. The hotel used to be a Franciscan monastery and much has been kept in the original state. The gardens are lovely and are used as private parking spots. The place...More
It is very calm place for stay. There is nice big garden in front where you can enjoy. It is close to the center, just 10-15 min walk. I love the masive old entrance door... Breakfast was ok. There is small restaurant just in front...More
I reserved 7 rooms here with a group of friends in June 2017. It met all our expectations. We loved the garden, the high ceilings and the grand staircase. The rooms were large. Mine overlooked the garden and the view was beautiful. It was nice...More

I loved this hotel. It was cool, calm, tranquil and felt secure. It is a very special old building with high ceilings and spacious rooms - a great antidote to the crowded narrow streets of Florence. There is a working chapel within the hotel, and...More

A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour. Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and they cannot help but stare at the architectural masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
delle Carmine churches. Tourists and Florentines alike join up in the area between Santo Spirito and San Frediano, connecting the Tuscan soul to the international spirit permeating the city.

We did find out that the desk had hair dryers that they would "loan" out to guests that had apparently been left by former guests. While "no frills", this was a very comfortable stay. Loved the atmosphere! Quiet, too, while being within easy walking distance of the best Florence has to offer. Take the desk clerk's advice on where to go to dinner in the area. Fabulous!! Friendly, excellent food, and wonderful service. Couldn't have been happier!
