The Bellevue House was very charming and is in a great location. Walking distance to many restaurants and sights to see. The management was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend going there. It was also reasonably priced.

My wife and I stayed in Florence for two nights as part of our honeymoon vacation through Europe, and we chose the Bellevue House based on the Rick Steves guide. We had an excellent stay here. Alessandro was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

I was pleased with my stay at Bellevue House. This small, family run place is friendly and welcoming. They will carry your luggage up the 90+ steps when you arrive, and back down when you leave. My room was spacious, clean, & reminded me of stays at my grandmother's house: nothing fancy, a little worn, but comfortable. An electric teapot... More

Hosts are great, gushing with local info, and outstanding concierges, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and location near train station is fantastic. Exceeded all expectations!! Perfect for anyone looking beyond the cookie cutter hotel!

We so enjoyed our stay in Florence - Bellevue House is very centrally located, the owners very friendly and helpful - giving us a map, with very good commentary, of key locations and restaurants nearby. Our room was big, comfortable and had all the right stuff. We really enjoyed our stay here! and if we are fortunate to come back... More

Pros: super nice staff; location; nice and welcoming. Cons: steps up (only an issue if you have low mobility, because owners will gladly help you up with your luggage); no breakfast. Conveniently located in a short-walk distance from the bus and train station, 8-minute walk to the Duomo, in front of a self-service laundry place and 3 minutes from a... More

After reading the reviews I couldn't feel any better about booking here at Bellevue House. It was my first time to Italy and I was traveling solo so I couldn't have landed at a better place. I was greeted w/ warmth & felt at home immediately. They helped me book all my day trips & recommended local favorites. They were... More

First time to Florence for us and so glad we found this B&B so centrally located and close to the train station. But the best part about it was the lovely helpful family who are the proud owners of the newly renovated Palazzo Riblet/Bellevue Hotel. Our spacious and comfortable room came with complimentary wine, bottled water, croissants and muffins. Nice... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
