We made a reservation at this hotel through their own website. I selected the date that we planned to arrive and the number of nights. The site quoted a rate and prompted me to submit our information. I did so and received a confirmation by email. Much to my surprise, the following day I received an invoice for a 'No... More

Centrally located, it is within walking distance of all the main attractions in Florence. Even though it is close to the city centre it is very quiet. The bedrooms are spacious and spotless.. Breakfast selection is excellent. The reception staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

This is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of historic Florence. My bedroom was clean and well kept. My bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a large enough shower where I felt comfortable. The hotel also offered complementary WIFI and the morning breakfast had a nice variety of pastries, yogurt, cereals cheeses, prosciutto, salami and breads. I... More

This was my second visit to Florence and my second stay at Santa Maria Novella. The room we stayed in was over looking the square and the Church. The bathroom was marble finished and the room was well appointed. Reception staff was helpful and always there to help.

I loved this hotel: the location, the kindness and efficiency of the staff, the room. The price was good, considering the fact that is a 4 stars hotel and my room was upgraded to a Junior Suite upon my arrival. The breakfast is abundant and of excellent quality. I will return to this hotel for sure.

The hotel is centrally located, in Santa Maria Novella square, and is a very short walk from the train station. The rooms are clean and spacious. The included breakfast buffet was great and the staff is friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again.

Our favourite hotel out of 4 on the trip. Absolutely loved the beautifully styled hotel. Spacious rooms, very attentive housekeeping coming just before bed to pop a chocolate on your pillow. Very accessible in a great spot, couldn't fault it. Highly recommended. I hurt my hand on our first night and needed some ice from the bar, the next morning... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
