We were welcomed by the friendliest staff we've meet. Claudio received us and made us feel right at home. The hotel serves breakfast (the usual italian) and the rooms are ok, a little bit old but everything worked great.

The main advantage of the hotel is location near the railway station Santa Maria Novella, also very approachable and helpful stuff. However, that is only the reason not to say “terrible” about that place. The hotel is close to the train station, but it`s quite difficult to find it behind the locked gate in the ordinary building. Surroundings are seedy...

We received a good service by a very friendly and helpful male receptionist. I suspect that the female receptionist was new to the job. The room was fine. Not large, but fine for my 20 year old son and me. We used the hotel as a base for 6 day holiday exploring Florence. The location is fine. 2-3 min. from...

The hotel itself was neat and tidy inside. The location is quite close to the train station, although it seemed to be not the best neighbourhood late in the evening. It was difficult to find the hotel as it is located off the main street behind a locked gate on the second floor of an ordinary building. We arrived in...

We perfectly remember of you! You rang 8 times and we opened to you immediately, but you wasn't able to enter (just push). Moreover you rang also at the main entrance, and it wasn't necessary. We're a three star hotel on the second floor of a modern building, our pride is our position, in the centre, close to the railway...

Good Hotel for the price. Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Good location, next to the Main station. Free Wifi and tv Very approachable staff. Only thing is the hotel is on the second floor of the building, so you have to pay attention not to miss it.

I hate giving poor reviews, but I wish someone would have warned me. Let me start with the positive. Our room was recently renovated. Everything was new and clean. Our bathroom was new and clean. The desk staff spoke English and were polite and helpful. Those is why I feel so bad to give a poor review. This is why...

Reading the other FB you can perceive a certain schizofrenia. Someone loves us very much, others hate us..... Life is strange.... Our breakfast has fresh pastry (muffins, croissants), toasts, cakes, bisquits, yogurts... and more. This is the second time we've come to Florence, so we chose to stay here again. It's very close to the train staton and our favorite restaurant Trattoria D'alla Oste. It's a mid range hotel with good service. Breakfast is basic, but they will make you an espresso if you ask - which is way better than the machine coffee.

Thank you to be stayed in our Hotel another time. This is our dimension: good location and service, convenient price, inside a building near the station. No more of this!!! We hope to see you again. Thank you.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
