Awesome location, near to railway station, walking distance to all major attractions, coffee, pizza, currency change, all at doorsteps, overall a great place to stay for solo travelers. Staff is extremely friendly and speak fluent English,

This hotel is a good choice if you do not want to tote luggage very far. The room was basic but very clean. The windows are not sound proof so there was some noise as the room overlooked the SMN piazza but it was not to loud. Enzo and staff were kind and helpful. Would stay here again but maybe...

I stayed here for two nights. The room was small but comfortable. I could here some street noise late at night, but once I put the earplugs in, all was silent. The staff was amazing. The breakfast is a typical European breakfast. The location was absolutely perfect. When I come back to Florence, I would stay here again, and will...

Of all the hotels we stay at during our recent trip to Italy, this was the least favorite. It was close to the train station which was a plus. However the room left much to desire. The view out the windows was a wall both out of the bedroom and bathroom. The hotel lost power twice during our stay for...

We checked in and were greeted with a smile. The front desk even upgraded us to a better room. The location is walking distance from the main train station and in a central location to multiple attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel !!

This was a lovely hotel in a very convenient location. It was a couple of minutes walk to the Santa Maria novella train station in one direction and a couple of minutes walk to the duomo in the other direction. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area for dinner. We had a nice view of the piazza from...

We had a beautiful, comfortable room. There were three of us travelling, a couple and our adult daughter. We all had comfortable beds and a spacious room with a lovely bathroom. The hotel is in a great location, on a beautiful piazza but only five minutes walk from the station.

We had a superior double room with a nice view : room was great with free wifi, working AC, bathroom amenities... Location is perfect: A short walk from the Santa Maria Novella Station where you can take trains to different cities (we took one to Pisa to spend the day there !). The hotel itself is in the heart of...

Great hotel, great location, great staff. Enzo is the best. He is friendly, funny, and kind. I came to the city with no reservation. I went to the tourist office, originally wanting lodging for 2 days, and the attendant to the right helped me make the reservation. Once I was in the room, I immediately book an additional day. Free...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
