Great little BNB in a fantastic location in florence - right near the duomo, san lorenzo and accademia museum. Rooms were massive - biggest in europe so far. The lady that works there/owner (forgot her name) is marvelous, recommended all the must see sights, tours, etc and she was just lovely. Made our stay so great. Only negative is noise... More

This place is probably a great choice if you know what to expect. I was disappointed overall but still pleased with the location for what we payed. The staff here were wonderful and the hotel is just around the corner from the Duomo. We only payed $129 a night on hotels.com. That said...if you book, keep in mind that this... More

This hotel was conveniently located very close to the Duomo. It had high ceilings and was air conditioned. Be aware that there are many, many stairs and no elevator. However, the water cooler at the front entrance made it all worthwhile.

Residenza dei Pucci is a stud. Just minutes from both the Accademia and the Duomo, this B&B offers a perfectly situated homebase for any traveling pack looking to conquer the birthplace of the Renaissance. Our room is clean, moderately spacious, and completely adequate. Tall ceilings was also a plus. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with the Residenza dei Pucci.... More

My family of four and I stayed in the top floor suite. Two bedrooms (one modest with twin beds and one massive with king bed), giant windows that opened wide for fabulous cross breezes, bright, airy, and spacious double sink bathroom, and a humbling view of the Duomo. Only a block and a half from the Duomo, short walk to... More

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. We were close to our estimated arrival time close to noon. When we arrived the entry doors were locked. Fortunately someone was leaving the building and let us in. You have to go up the stairs to find the manager and fortunately she was there. We were able to leave... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights. Our room was lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. The Inn is small and intimate. The location was perfect. It is walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted us in making dinner reservations. We truly loved Florence and... More

Great Location, the hotel is small but has big rooms well decorated. It is really close to Santa Maria del Fiore church, 2 blocks walking distance and 20 min walking from the main train station. Be aware that you have to climb stairs to get to the rooms, so it is better if you could carry small luggage. I had... More

The rooms are in a building that was built in the 1300 to 1600s, great modern updates with a few expected quiks. But, the absolute must reason why you need to go to dei Pucci is because of the owner-manager; talk to her for 10 minutes and you'll feel like you have a friend in Florence who speaks beautiful English... Lots of superlatives for this place: A nice, spacious room for a pretty good price that's around the corner from the Duomo. That's all that you really need to recommend it right there. The negatives are nitpicks: Pretty sparse (though free) breakfast and some erratic water heat in the shower. One host was considerably nicer than the other, but it... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
