This charming old Tuscan villa is located very near to the heart of the city. The Duomo is 10 minutes on foot, the Arno river/Ponte Vecchio is around 15. The hotel's furniture contains antique pieces, the common are is really nice. Breakfast is served in the dining hall or outside in the lovely little garden (palm trees, flowers and some... More

Booked a single room which turned out to be like a prison cell with no carpet. The hotel only has internet in the lobby. No kettle no tea/coffee making. Staff indifferent. Grudgingly offered a double room for double the price but still no internet so would be throwing good money after bad. Attitude was what do you expect. This hotel... More

We stayed two nights and the gentleman at the desk was most accommodating. He outdid himself seeing the we had what we desired. The room was comfortable. The rate seemed appropriate. Although the hotel is a little longer to walk to, it is worth it!!

I booked last minute as i was staying in a hostel but had become quite ill so wanted a room on my own. I booked and then read the reviews so was slightly worried but i was pleasantly surprised. I didn't encounter any rude staff, the guy with the piercings in particular seemed very friendly. The hotel itself is very... More

The staff is friendly as always in Toscana. However be careful, parking is 25€ a day. The rooms are not fantastic but clean. The location is okay, you would be 20 minutes from Duomo by walking. Internet won't be accessible in your room. Nothing very fancy but cheap for Firenze.

We have stayed in this hotel only for one night in the family room 26. Over 220€. The building and location is great. Children thought that we are in the castle, until we used the restrooms. I have had more comfortable facilities in the student's dorms. Only very basic shower gel / shampooing . Not to mention that you at... More

There was a group of 32 with us. We only stayed one night. Even though the posted check out time is 11:30. They told us since we were a large group, we would have to check out by 9:30! I think this was unacceptable, and didn't check out till 11:30, just for spite. And even though the check in time... More

The hotel is really nice, the room is large, and the staff is super friendly. Couldn't be happier with this hotel choice, especially at this price. We were nervous booking without first seeing it but this is a gem

An impressive building decorated with some impressive Italian period furniture and antiques. Yes it is a little unusual with the bar situation (the attendees on reception were always willing to serve you however). The pool is an additional 8 euros per day but then it is the only hotel I am aware of in central Florence with a pool. We... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
