This hotel is in an excellent location in Florence, particularly handy if, like us, you're just there for a short stop over and want to fit in as much sight seeing as possible. The rooms are basic but fine, not sure I'd want to stay more than a few days though without wanting to be somewhere more homely. The room... More

We arrived in Florence and picked up our rental car(standard shift) at the airport, then with a GPS drove into the heart of Florence in search or our hotel. The drive was very stressful, as crowded, narrow one way streets combined with road construction made the otherwise short drive a harrowing experience.. The hotel is located up 3 flights of... More

This hotel is on a great location. 5 mins walk to Duomo. Service was great. The hotel represents good value. We visited in one of the hot months and you may want to consider somewhere with air con in July/August. Florence is very hot in Summer and keeping windows open can mean a noisy and hot night.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Marco, who went above and beyond to ensure that we would get the most out of our trip to Florence. He outlined places that were a "must see" and places that we should visit if we had the time, and gave us a map. Our room was simple, with a double bed, small sink,... More

This is very basic accommodation. Only a 5 minute walk to the duomo. In fact we could see it if we leaned out our window. We stayed late June, and it was quite hot. Their was a ceiling fan but it didn't work. We had a portable fan which worked and at least have some reprieve from the heat. The... More

Marco was the perfect host and hotel manager and made our stay the most pleasant ever. Marco came with me in my car and we drove together to the included free parking. He was most helpful with directions and information and also offered espressos and cappuccinos after our long plane trip The room was very clean and well appointed and... More

I am so glad to see these great reviews for the Hotel Dali. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Florence. The location is perfect and not on hotel row. It tends to be a bit quieter, but was close enough to the action for us. Florence is about finding those less traveled streets with just as... More

The Hotel Dali is in a perfect location for sight-seeing in Florence. It is easy to walk to all the major attractions. The owner of the hotel was polite and very helpful; he recommended several wonderful restaurants and even printed our tickets for the Duomo that we had purchased online. We arrived late and although the owner made arrangements for... More

My wife and I chose the triple room with a private washroom. It was absolutely great. A good size room for Florence, very clean, comfortable beds. The hotel was about 2 minutes walk from The Duomo - very central to the heart of old Florence. We arrived in Florence by train, and could walk to the hotel with our suitcases... More

Hotel Dali may not be for everyone but my partner and I absolutely loved it! We had had the warmest welcome by Peter who apparrently works every Sunday. He was very friendly and mapped out all the recommended sights to see whilst in Florence including a lovely Italian Restaurant down the road called Zio Gigi's which had amazing food without... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

The Hotel Dal is located in an old palace owned by the Marquis Frescobaldi, renowned by name to Italians and to wine producers worldwide. The hotel's peaceful setting is centrally located within old town Florence on Via dell'Oriuolo ("The Clock Road" in ancient Florentine). This little cobblestone road is still filled with "botteghe" (artisan shops), where carpenters, jewellers and frame-makers can be found at work. Marco and Samanta, a very nice couple native to Florence and experts in providing unparalleled comfort and service, manage the hotel. Their welcome will make you feel at home.
