This is a great place to stay. Great location. Clean. Air conditioning worked well. Francesco (and his mother) speak excellent English. Staff speaks some English (better than my Italian). The Lift/Elevator worked well. And contrary to some reviews, we had a room with a great view of the Baptistry and Duomo, but it was very quiet as it had 2... More

We originally booked into one of Francescos other hotels and after a small problem with the room there they immediately transferred us here. Wow, what a location and what great hospitality. Would recommend to anyone as it is in the best location in Florence. Rooms were perfectly cleaned ready and the lift also means you don't have to climb the... More

First the good: Great location, Cathedral View, Free Wifi, reasonable price (133E/night for triple room), friendly staff, well-heated in the winter, well-lit, and they clean the rooms. BUT: 1. Astonishing level of noise in the rooms with a view, 24/7 -- impossible to sleep, and the room comes with ear plugs. 2. The breakfast is mediocre -- includes packaged croissant... More

This hotel is located right on Plaza San Giovanni and the "view" rooms look right out onto the Duomo and baptistry. 5-10 minutes walk from almost anywhere you'll want to go. The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but comfortable and reasonably sized for Europe. Note that the "view" rooms are also quite noisy... More

Francesco and Allesandra were both over the top helpful and welcoming. There literally couldn't be a better location in all of Florence. The room was beautiful, breakfast was great, and francesco recommended a great restaurant and pointed out the best areas for sightseeing and food. This is my favorite hotel in all of europe. Grazie!!

This was a wonderful 3 nights in Florence. Amazing location, very helpful staff that made sure I had a great time. Good rooms with a wonderful view of the Domo and nothing was more than a 15 minute walk. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

This B&B was in a great location and the room was large, clean and comfortable, but sparse. We definitely enjoyed our stay, with only a few reservations. Our main issue was that there was rarely anyone at reception. We were well greeted when we arrived and offered a few good recommendation, but after that, we rarely saw anybody, and there... More

Unfortunately this property has changed hands recently. The reviews of the previous owner were outstanding. Not what we found. The location is excellent. Right next to the Duomo and central to everything. The place itself bare minimum. The owner was friendly, but never there. Apparently owns another place. We had one small bar of soap for 3 days until I... More

The location can not be beat! That said, the room we stayed in was clean but pretty spare. A table to eat breakfast on would have been great. The bathroom had no shelf to put toiletries, and there is no shelf in the shower to place soap or shampoo. The staff was nice, and spoke english. We stayed several days,... More

We found this place going through the lanes from our place of stay and was stunned to see this beautifully designed church amidst a colony of shops. It was really beautiful and as it was raining outside we coul spend a little more time inside see a child lighting the tree of lamps. It was a wonderful visit.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
