Villa Camerata is a faded Dame of a building set in highly neglected grounds. The setting is rural yet within a short bus trip to central Florence. I expected it to be a bit worn but simple things were just horrible. The reception sofas were dirty and covers torn, bathroom light was on a timer which kept shutting off before... More

There were 4 of us staying at this hostel and upon arrival we were happy with our surroundings. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the building was located in beautiful grounds. Our room contained two bunk beds and a shower and toilet. We thought we would have to use the shared ones so this was a nice... More

Far away of center. Fortunately we had our bikes. Dirty and noisy. Unpleasant personell. We booked twin room with bathroom and found bunk beds without linnen and shared bathroom. They wanted to charge us membership tax (no info about this on the site). They threatened us with the police when we refused to pay it. Very bad breakfast. Internet only... More

We made a reservation a day before we arrived here. Because we traveled by car it was important to us, that we would have a free parking which this place has. We stayed two nights. The hostel has a good location even that you need to walk a little bit to a first bus station. But it's not far. Like... More

Villa Camerata is the really big place and it was not like a typical hostel. I stayed at this hostel only for one night and I did not like it at all. First of all he bathrooms were so dirty and you are not provided even with the towel. You have a possibility to buy the towel for €2, but... More

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Florence. The hostel is in a beautiful setting and the building itself is stunning. There is a long walk from the road up to the hostel but it is well signposted from the roadabout that the bus drops you off at. The bus takes about 20 minutes from Saint Maria Novella train... More

Had everything we needed and was the cheapest we could find in Florence. About an hour walk into the city centre but Florence is picturesque enough that its worth walking in. We also walked to Fiesole from the hostel which was a very pretty town. Breakfast was good and facilities were fine but the actual rooms themselves were a bit... More

I loved the fact that they offer breakfast (and that the breakfast is quite good), and it was also cool that it was quite calm when I stayed there, which is good if you want to rest on the other hand, It's incredibly far from the center of the city. You gotta take the bus to get there (it's way... More

Just stayed one night on our way through Florence. Easiest to get there with a Taxi, but a bus will get you to the bottom of the drive. Which is at least 500 meters long, maybe more, and uphill on arrival. We had a family room which was clean and simple. Bathrooms are fine, although my wife had to use... More

Cheap, decent location, good breakfast and lovely kitchen staff. Can be noisy at night, the reception staff are pretty grim and the toilets not the cleanest. No way of locking away rucksacks as the cupboards in the rooms don't take locks. Valuables can be left at reception. If you can find a place as cheap on airbnb probably a better... More
