This is a historic hotel right next to the river with amazing views from two different terraces. Extremely gracious and friendly staff, especially the general manager Maria Rita Bellini. She is dedicated to the way the hotel is run and it shows. The location is great. Just a short walk from the bridge to explore the other side of the...

HOTEL’S FAVORITE REVIEW

We had the Panorama Suite. Our room lacked nothing. It was clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming, spacious, well appointed, and simply beautiful. The hotel has excellent wi-fi and adequate outlets for charging all the tech we carry. It is a tower. There are lots of steps even though there are elevators as well. The views of the Ponte Vecchio, the Arno...

The hotel was perfectly lovely, an amazing location, within walking distance from the train station...2 blocks from the Ponte Vecchio, 10 minute walk from the Duomo and the open market...a fantastic selection of high end designer stores all around the hotel. Also the hotel staff were wonderful...they bent over backwards to look after us. Can't wait to go back !

My husband and stayed in this quaint hotel which is ideally located smack in the middle of the most upscale shops in Florence including the flagship Ferragamo store. The views of the Duomo and the shops were to die for. The hotel rooms are very large including the marble bathrooms. The best assets of this hotel is location and the...

We stayed the 1st week of May 2017. I gave it 3.5* for several reasons, 1st the air conditioning and WiFi in the Hamm Suite did not work correctly. So we opened the window and it was a bit noisy. 2nd the breakfast was repetitive and we had to pay 5 euros extra for a fresh omelet each day per...

The hotel with its 12th century tower, which has 360 degree views of all of Florence and the surrounding hills is absolutely fantastic. Every single member of the staff was warm and welcoming and incredibly accommodating and helpful. Our Rome both had great views over the river and provided people watching opportunities 24 hours a day. The rooms were nicely...

This hotel is well located with convenient walks, less than 5 minutes, to the Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Saint Trinita bridges over the Arno River. Convenient walking distance to the important museums. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Complimentary breakfast. The 360 degree view from the rooftop lounge provides an excellent orientation to the city. We felt very safe...

We stayed only one night as planned. The People were delightful and very accommodating. We had drinks in the bar at the top of the hotel in the evening. The view of the Duomo was wonderful and the service and value for the drinks and snacks was great. The bartender was a delight to talk with. They stored our luggage...

We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The staff are very helpful; the room we had was spacious, clean and great views (4th floor I think). The breakfast area is ideal with an outdoor patio and then there are two separate roof patios with different views that really are spectacular. The honor bar and bartender, when...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We personally enjoy welcoming our guests, we wish to reinvent the concept of hospitality, and we have the inspiration to provide the warmth of home in every detail. This is how the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1, Florence came to be: a tower-house built in the mid-12th century by the Guelph family of Ruggerini. At the beginning of the 20th century, this palace became "Pensione Piccioli," and quickly turned into a privileged residence for aristocrats and English writers. Closed after the Great War, Pensione Piccioli reopened in 2001, as a Period Residence called "Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1." Thanks to attentive restoration to preserve all its original charm, the evocative ambiance of the Palace on Via Tornabuoni has regained life and warmth. This magnificent complex is considered one of the typical "tower-houses" of Mediaeval Florence, and, to this day, it still preserves all its characteristic architectural elements: it is an admirable example of the human ability to convert buildings built for war into oases of peace, culture and hospitality. In this ancient tower, we have created a world of harmony, privacy, and attentiveness to our guests' needs. Luxury, peace, and beauty are all in traditional Italian style, and give the concept of comfort new aesthetics. Almost all rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the city or the Arno River, and all are furnished with the highest in comfort: satellite plasma TVs, DVD players, wireless internet connection, direct line telephone, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioning and heating, private marble bath with tub and/or shower, hair dryer, slippers and shoehorns. Some of the Rooms and Suites are decorated with a Renaissance flair: with frescoes, drapes in coloured precious fabrics, bathrooms in red Alcantara or Gold Calacatta marble, and romantic four poster beds. ... more   less
