Stayed there for 4 nights last week. The star were very very nice. The breakfast was o.k. The view spectacular;lar. Te room not nice at all. They upgraded me to a "tower suite." The room was dark; the living room. There was a sofa that was too stained and dirty to sit on. Needs updating. At least where I was!

After staying in four different hotels on our previous five trips to Florence, my wife and I first stayed at Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni in 2014. We enjoyed our stay there so much that we chose to stay there again in 2016. The hotel’s location on Via Tornabuoni, one of Florence’s most prestigious streets near the Arno and Ponte... More

Check in was handled very pleasantly by Mika, who also arranged for reserved time tickets to The Academia and Uffizi Museums so we could see David and "Birth of Venus" without standing in lines. Thank you Mika. The hotel's location and breakfast were excellent. Wifi in our room, #402 was spotty, but there is an easy chair just out side... More

For our last night in Tuscany, I booked the Antica Torre based on the many complimentary Trip Advisor reviews, and it was just as expected. We had a lovely 6th floor room overlooking the river. From the hotel, which is located at the corner of one of the top shopping streets in Florence, we walked all over the city. What... More

Very nice hotel, great location very organised and helpful staff. Amazing view from the roof top bar. Would absolutely stay again for Business but hope next time for pleasure. If you are self driving you have to drive through a pedestrian area. Once navigated all good and the staff take care of the car.

A short walk to everything you want to see in Florence's historic center. Beautiful old building with two great terraces overlooking the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio on one side and the Palazzo Pitti on the other. Nice selection of DVD's with many movies related to Italy and Florence, if you happen to have time for that. Great breakfast. In short,... More

My husband and I just spent 12 nights at Antica Torre and we loved every minute of it! The location is incredible - just a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Gallaria Accademia (home of Michelangelo's David), many, many restaurants, Piazza deal Duomo... And the street it's on, Tornabuoni, has some of the best clothes shopping in all... More

The excellent location with all the attractions only few minutes walking away make this the perfect place for a stay in Florence. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The hotel is also rather quite. The breakfast is very good - you can enjoy it on a terrace if the weather allows. Don't miss to ave a drink at one... More

This is a lovely boutique hotel situated a stone's throw fro the Ponte Vecchio and Central Florence. Charming staff who couldn't do more for their guests. You felt welcome from the moment you walked in the door. Located in one of the more upscale areas of Florence, the hotel has pretty, well appointed, comfortable rooms with beautiful views. A rooftop... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We personally enjoy welcoming our guests, we wish to reinvent the concept of hospitality, and we have the inspiration to provide the warmth of home in every detail. This is how the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1, Florence came to be: a tower-house built in the mid-12th century by the Guelph family of Ruggerini. At the beginning of the 20th century, this palace became "Pensione Piccioli," and quickly turned into a privileged residence for aristocrats and English writers. Closed after the Great War, Pensione Piccioli reopened in 2001, as a Period Residence called "Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1." Thanks to attentive restoration to preserve all its original charm, the evocative ambiance of the Palace on Via Tornabuoni has regained life and warmth. This magnificent complex is considered one of the typical "tower-houses" of Mediaeval Florence, and, to this day, it still preserves all its characteristic architectural elements: it is an admirable example of the human ability to convert buildings built for war into oases of peace, culture and hospitality. In this ancient tower, we have created a world of harmony, privacy, and attentiveness to our guests' needs. Luxury, peace, and beauty are all in traditional Italian style, and give the concept of comfort new aesthetics. Almost all rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the city or the Arno River, and all are furnished with the highest in comfort: satellite plasma TVs, DVD players, wireless internet connection, direct line telephone, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioning and heating, private marble bath with tub and/or shower, hair dryer, slippers and shoehorns, and Dr Vranjes scented essences. Some of the Rooms and Suites are decorated with a Renaissance flair: with frescoes, drapes in coloured precious fabrics, bathrooms in red Alcantara or Gold Calacatta marble, and romantic four poster beds. ... more   less
