My family stayed here in June. We're 2 adults and three little kids (6, 4, 21 months). I was nervous about finding the right place for our family- central but not too hectic location, kid friendly, easy breakfast. This was definitely it. The hotel is an easy walk the big sites, but on a relatively quiet, dead end street. The... More

We absolutely loved our exquisite room and the spectacular view of the Arno River. Huge room with two windows. Hotel is centrally located and provided easy access to all of Florence. Not tons of amenities, but not necessary due to great location.

We stayed at this hotel for our only night in Florence and absolutely loved it. The hotel is located in a fantastic location and we were able to walk there from the train station. It was within easy walking distance of all the sights we wanted to see and there were lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby. The staff... More

Great location and superb in every area. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were incredibly helpful. Breakfast on roof top terrace was delicious and memorable. Roof top bar is private and views are incredible. Would highly recommend this hotel while in Florence.

We visited Florence for 3 nights and stayed in the Antica Torre. We had a room with a balcony with wonderful views over the whole of Florence. The hotel is in a great location, clean rooms and has a roof top terrace. We were fortunate to be there for the firework display. It is not a traditional 'hotel' but it... More

The location can't be beaten, it's 1, via Tournabouni- the most luxury shopping street in Florence, opposite the Ferragamo building and overlooking the Arno river. The hotel was great, a lovely and quiet place for both couples or group of friends enjoying beautiful, pristine rooftop views . Their reception area was small, the rooms were up on the top 3... The hotel is set in the top two floors of a 13th century tower building right on the Arno. This means that it has quirky floors, quite a few stairs, and no entrance lobby to speak of. We spent 3 nights in a Classic room. Reasonable size, well furnished, light and sunny, with rooftop views to the Duomo. The breakfast... More

When we arrived we entered the building that didn't have a clear hotel sign, but as we approached the small reception area we were greeted by a very friendly & helpful person, we were escorted to our room on the 5th floor & again presently surprised by the room itself & the very large bathroom, the only draw back was... Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We personally enjoy welcoming our guests, we wish to reinvent the concept of hospitality, and we have the inspiration to provide the warmth of home in every detail. This is how the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1, Florence came to be: a tower-house built in the mid-12th century by the Guelph family of Ruggerini. At the beginning of the 20th century, this palace became "Pensione Piccioli," and quickly turned into a privileged residence for aristocrats and English writers. Closed after the Great War, Pensione Piccioli reopened in 2001, as a Period Residence called "Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1." Thanks to attentive restoration to preserve all its original charm, the evocative ambiance of the Palace on Via Tornabuoni has regained life and warmth. This magnificent complex is considered one of the typical "tower-houses" of Mediaeval Florence, and, to this day, it still preserves all its characteristic architectural elements: it is an admirable example of the human ability to convert buildings built for war into oases of peace, culture and hospitality. In this ancient tower, we have created a world of harmony, privacy, and attentiveness to our guests' needs. Luxury, peace, and beauty are all in traditional Italian style, and give the concept of comfort new aesthetics. Almost all rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the city or the Arno River, and all are furnished with the highest in comfort: satellite plasma TVs, DVD players, wireless internet connection, direct line telephone, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioning and heating, private marble bath with tub and/or shower, hair dryer, slippers and shoehorns, and Dr Vranjes scented essences. Some of the Rooms and Suites are decorated with a Renaissance flair: with frescoes, drapes in coloured precious fabrics, bathrooms in red Alcantara or Gold Calacatta marble, and romantic four poster beds. ... more   less
