You will not regret choosing the Tourist House Ghiberti! It is a B&B with the feel of a 5 star hotel. There are normal electronic key entry into the rooms so I felt very safe. The location is perfect, only a 5-10 minute walk to the train station and all the major sites. In fact, it is located only around... More

Great accommodations, comfortable and a lovely brunch served every morning in a cozy quaint outdoor patio. Walking distance to much, taxi's are always eagerly available. Very much enjoyed out Day Tuscany Wine & Lunch tour.

An away from it all haven yet at the heart of unique Florence. A very serene atmosphere in that former Palace with unobtrusive hosts who are however ready to help whenever you need. Two steps away from nearly all main attractions or the Arno, on a quiet street. No noise in the rooms that are very restful, like the small... More

Dear Guest, we thank you very much for your wonderful review. Really wonderful review!! Thank you also for the description of our breakfast, think that sometimes happens that somebody complain about that ?!? Many places even do'nt write the ingredients , we think instead that guests would like to know what are eating ... Hoping to host you back in... More

We spent three very comfortable nights at theTourist Housr Ghiberti. It is only minutes away from the Duomo and we were able to walk everywhere. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very satisfying. The staff was very helpful. We certainly would stay there again as well as recommend it to anyone who is going to visit Florence.

We stayed both in a high-end hotel and in Tourist House Ghiberti. We preferred the Tourist House Ghiberti. It is comfortable, spacious and clean and the proprietors are friendly. The location is excellent and really makes you feel like your'e in the heart of the city.

The location of the hotel is excellent, on a quiet street behind the Duomo within walking distance of everything. The hotel is clean and offers great amenities (breakfast, a hot tub, sauna, toiletries, computer/internet, etc.). Our room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was very pretty. The staff are cordial and recommended a really good restaurant nearby. We would... More

Good location, spacious room, great amenities, bountiful breakfast. This B&B has everything you need, computer, DVD, TV, built-in speaker, etc. The owner of the place is thorough and detail, he explained well to us on how to use everything in the room and the SPA inside B&B. The breakfast has many selections including to boil eggs on your own.

I spent 4 nights here and appreciated the location more every day. It's a block behind the Duomo but out of the tourist crush. There is a small elevator, and the building is very secure. My room was quite large, and the bathroom was as well. Breakfast is bountiful - cornetti, breads, fresh cake, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereals, juices,... More

Stayed Oct 2015 for 3 nights total (2 on the front and 1 on the end of a tour)- the innkeepers are gracious, helpful (with getting our luggage out of elevator!), personable. The inn has HUGE rooms for a city center and private baths are as large as most pensione rooms. Pristine- everything clean, fresh, newly refurbished. Extra linens provided.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
