My husband and I stayed here for four days and loved it! Beautiful building, comfy rooms, immaculate cleanliness. But there are two highlights: 1) the location can't be beat! An easy walk from the train station and so centrally located you can easily walk to all major sites. The Central Mercado is just around the corner and became a favorite... More

Stayed 3 nights. Room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Not particularly exciting decor but we weren't in Florence to spend time in a hotel room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast and coffee good. Would be happy to stay again.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Our room was claustrophobic as it was so small. One window which looked onto a windowed courtyard area and dark bathroom. We asked for an upgrade, which was better but the furnishings were still the same, and are old, cheap and tired. Breakfast was horrible, nothing to write home about, dry rolls and revolting coffee. We ate out... More

Comfortable. Friendly. Extremely helpful front desk staff spoke English and French very well. Location was just right for my purposes -- outside the hurly burly of the centre but a quick walk (10-15 minutes) to everything of interest.

Had 4 nights here. A quaint, typing V Cal Italian environment we like when we are traveling. It was in the middle of everything so very handy. Breakfast was ok. But nothing hot. And no jug. Tea, coffee in the rooms. I think it's a European thing. I notice a lot of these hotels don't. But it would be nice.... More

It was a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The staff was friendly and personable. The rooms were cute and clean. Good TV channels and I would definitely stay there again. I didn't get a chance to try breakfast because I was out and about late and then got up early but I did have some coffee the day I... More

We booked a holiday with British Airways and this hotel was one of the options. Saw decent reviews so chose it and we were not disappointed. First time in Florence and staff suggested places to go, and how to get there. Room was comfortable and well appointed. The balcony was a nice space to watch the world go by, and,... More

We were looking for a hotel close to San Lorenzo Square and were very pleased when we arrived and the Central Market and leather market were only a short block away. The location was perfect. It was a nice walk to all of the important points of interest in Florence as well as the train station. We were greeted by... More

We chose Hotel Botticelli for our first ever trip to the Renaissance city, and we were quite happy with our choice. It is located within walking distance of the Santa Maria Novella station. The hotel entrance is located in a narrow alley (like many other old structures in Florence). The hostess at the reception gave us a warm welcome and... More

After having a stressful time getting to Florence, I was made to feel welcome and distressed almost immediately. The room was nothing great to shout about however, I will say it was clean and very comfortable. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the location of the hotel meant I was in walking distance of the... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
