Came to Hotel Scoti after reading about it in Lonely Planet. Was not disappointed! Doreen greeted me with a warm hello and sat with me for a chat then showed me around. I stayed in a double room with an ensuite. It's a beautiful old building with an old elevator and an amazing ceiling. It's on Via Tourbini where all... More

Friendly and welcoming Doreen and Carmelo own this hotel located on the 2nd floor above the Prada Store. They have done quite a lot of updating on this 500 year old building but have left the century old murals in the main living area. Our room was basic but comfortable. There is no air conditioning but a fan was provided... More

Located in an older building 3rd floor on a street lined with high fashion stores close to everything. No front desk, small 2 person elevator, large living room/ common area with beautiful fresco wall to ceiling . Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Clean rooms with high ceilings and everything you need. This is a no frills hotel with lots of... More

Excellent location. Walking distance to all attractions, restaurants, shopping. Very basic room. Large windows overlooking Street shops, Gucci's etc. No lobby or check in desk. Make sure you call when you get there to pick up keys or you will never find it. Can be very noisy at night. We were kept up till 2am by very loud music from... More

I was there in May for 3 nights, we were given a room in annex. the room is good and clean, I liked the location which was a short walk from the main attractions. The hotel offers basis facilities and do not expect a seamless service as you expect in good hotels, but it is worth the price you pay... More

Hotel Scoti is really a Pensione. It's a collection of rooms or apartments in an older building off a central lounge/living-room area. First the positives: this is a great location: within easy walking distance of Santa Maria Novella (church & station), Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, the Ufizzi, etc. The rooms and baths are of ample size, and well appointed for... Doreen and Carmelo are welcoming and warm hosts who made suggestions when asked and left us to our own devices otherwise. They helped us with travel connections, taxis, restaurants, but gave us all the space we wanted. It's a lovely historic building, in the heart of Florence, walk to everything day or night. If you go in Spring 2016, be... More

Although only one star, this hotel or albergo is the perfect hotel to explore florence, just a stone away from the main train station for arrival and departure, but all things can be done by walking. Another plus, very clean, perfect english of host. Only thing to note is the breakfast is not included. This is not positive nor negative,... More

This charming hideaway in the centre of Florence just a short walk from the station and the major attractions was absolutely perfect. From the beginning we were warmly greeted by our hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely return to Hotel Scoti in the future.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
