Stayed during conference over a few days and had an excellent stay. Ideal location, close to all the sites, restaurants and markets. If your travelling by train from Pisa the hotel is literally across from the station. The rooms are a good size and quiet, with friendly staff and housekeeping. The breakfast is amazing, a great choice to suit most...

We stayed here in March this year and were very lucky to have good weather. The hotel is right opposite the station and super close to tram stops. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. The rooms are spic and span. The breakfast layout was one of the best we had throughtout our trip. Surprisingly, although the location is...

Dear Guest, if I'm not mistaken you was part of a fairly large group. I remember someone asked to have dinner, but we have no restaurant and your agency would have to alert you to what were our services. The elevators are not new, but when there's so many people at the same time we may have to wait a...

This is definitely a very good hotel with a variety of excellent breakfast. Location is just 200 metres from the station which makes us easy to travel back to Roma. Staff is very friendly and the room is very clean. Ninik / Jakarta -Indonesia

I stayed at the Diplomat for my honeymoon anniversary for 3 nights. It is located right opposite to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station, so I could reach the hotel in 2 minutes after arriving from Venice. It is also nearby to most of the sightseeing in Florence. Excellent room and breakfast options, excellent service to top it up.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
