Nice and cozy hotel near all Highlihts of Florenze. The hosts Manuella and Marco are really nice people and very helpsome and english speaking. If we go back to Florenze again Hotel Giglio will be our first choice.
Our expierence at ghd hotel giglio was exceptional. From the clean and tastefully decorated rooms to the very friendly service of the hotel team. We were even provided a free ride to the train station. The location is great. And the breakfast was always a good way to start our day. Highly recommend it!
We were greeted as if we were coming home. The staff on both days and evenings were outstanding. They helped us choose what to see and the best time to visit. Their restaurant recocmmendations never disappointed. The rooms were very nice and as clean as any we have ever seen. The daily breakfast was very nice with lots of selections. This hotel is more than a hotel, it's a home away from home. The warm and genuine smiles and excellent service provided by Marco and Manuela, our hosts and owners, made our stay a 5 star experience. We loved the authenticity of the building's character. The rooms were clean and quaint with high ceilings and large windows. Housekeeping always came while we were gone. We were there for the New Year's Eve weekend. We celebrated with the festivities on the streets and retreated to our quiet room. With the help of our hosts, we planned a quick getaway to Sienna for 2 nights and when we came back, our new room had a beautiful balcony! It was a delight to be able to open the doors and have fresh air. The rooms provided all of our needs and were comfortable and welcoming. The espresso machine is Manuela's favorite and if you are lucky, she makes amazing cappucinos! The breakfast buffet will get your day started. Yogurts, cereals, fruit, juices and pastries are part of the offerings. After a short walk into town, you can always supplement with fabulous choices of other bakeries and coffee shops! We look forward to our return! All our best, Spencer and Claudia P.S. The 2 large art pieces on the wall in the lobby and dining room are actually puzzles put together by Marco e Manuela! True artists of patience and talent!…
We, a family of 5, stayed here for 2 nights. PROS: great location. It is right on the edge of everything, so the streets are quiet but it is still close to the Duomo and Accademie. Clean. Everything was quite clean, the floors, bathrooms, beds. Super nice. The owner and his staff are all super I d and accommodating. Free breakfast. It is pretty “meh.” My picky American kids wouldn’t eat most of it. The fruit always seemed overripe and there was other weirdness about it. But they do try. Spacious. The rooms are large and the bathrooms not super tiny. My three gripes about it: It is very dated. The lobby area is probably clean but it looks like your great-aunt’s living room, cluttered with doilies, lace tablecloths and old appliances, so it looks a little grubby. Everything could use a fresh coat of paint. It looks like an older Airbnb vs a 3 star hotel. Our fridge didn’t work. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and would have liked for our water to be cold. The housekeeping turned off the air conditioning while we were gone. It wasn’t unbearably hot or anything but as I mentioned, we were in the middle of a heat wave and after walking all day in 102 degree weather (with a baby in a baby carrier!), it would have been nice to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, I’m not sure I’d stay here again. There are certainly a lot pro’s but the price for a more updated, nicer hotel isn’t that much more. If you’re trying to save a buck, it’s fine. If you’d like to feel happy about coming back to your hotel room after a hot walk about town, I’d probably choose elsewhere.…
