We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and wifi was functional. The hotel is centrally located (we had some difficulty finding it initially due to the street layout/construction) and is a good value. Note: there's no elevator.

We came here and it was a very good residence. The room was very clean and warm and breakfast was very rich with full of oats milk coffee cake biscuits bread honey chocolate cream tea jam and very tasty. We had our own bathroom very very clean where they changed towels every second (2) date. The location of the hotel... More

No Elevator/ Lift. The Reception is on 1st floor, so our room on 2nd floor of the hotel meaning 3rd floor from Ground. If I was a solo traveler, dragging the luggage for 3 stories isnt so much fun. We didn't realize this fact when we booked the hotel. Shower pressure was weak on 2nd floor. Double bed was 2... More

The hotel is nice and clean, close to the raiway station, very good located in the centre, the staff was very nice, WiFi excellent, I shouldn't expect more for the nice price, BUT... we received the room number 2, with the "piece of wall-view", absolutely dark all day, without any daily light, depressing and gloomy. For 1-night staying - OK,... More

Dear customer, we are disappointed to receive a rating of 2 of 5. Our strengths that you had listed are perfect: cleaning, hotel location, staff, free wifi and great prices. The room number 2 is a room that has not a view of the main street but on a small court, not on a wall as written by you. Why... More

Excellent location (close to the train station and tourist attractions), fair price, decent rooms (and shower) and breakfast! Helpful people on the reception. Definetely worth it. Would certainly stay there again.

STAY AWAY from this hotel. We booked four nights at this hotel last July. The rooms had no aircondition. There was a very slow and noisy ceiling fan. When we opened the windows, it was too noisy to sleep. The response we got when we filed the complaint was 'You are not normal!' The owners were so rude. They even... More

Dear Guest, Sometimes the customer comments are incredible especially the comments written by you which was already our client the previous winter and you knew very well our place and our services. If you're on a budget and just plan on sleeping and keeping your bags in your room, this place is ideal. They're pretty clean rooms, but not fancy by any means. Think i had the smallest single room, but it was everything i needed, shower good A/C and dual band wifi. The Location and service is by far the best... More

Sometimes in life you are lucky, and me and my friend were when we booked this pensione hotel. It was on a charming street a minute away from the most beautiful church in Florence (Santa Maria Novella) If you have an artists soul you will be astounded by the frescoes there! This hotel was highly recommended online and in travel guides. It does have a great location. The rooms are small but decent and clean. The breakfast? For 5 euros you can get something so much better in a near by café. But the reason why I give such low rating to this hotel is actually the owners of the place…I... More

Dear guest, thanks for your comments but I wanted to inform you that the night staff has less than half of the work that I and my family have during the day and surely they have more time to talk to customers, but this not meant to be an excuse. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
