We booked this hotel very last minute (by fluke) and were lucky to have stayed here! The history of the building was quite intriguing and enjoyed learning about it during our stay. The building had a lot character and staying here is definitely a different (&welcome) experience. The rooftop terrazza was incredible! On top of the hotel was a tower... More

Beautiful location in the historical center of Florence. A medieval tower view. Large rooms with yesterdays furniture, caracter and design and old bathroom. A bit old fashion charm not refurbished for some time..

The hotel is close to heaps of restaurants and shops. The staff are wonderful, they are helpful and kind and they are always up for a chat. The rooms have breathtaking views and the rooms are spacious and clean.

Looking for something different....not the same old same old chain hotel? Torre Guelfa is definitely the place you want to stay! I am writing this on behalf of my son and niece who recently returned from their visit to Florence. In my sons words...." Mom, I want to live on this terrace forever!" They said the staff was friendly and... More

We were here with a Rick Steves Tour. It was a great pick and probably the most luxurious hotel we stayed at. I love history and the fact that this was an old tower built in the 13th century that was converted into a hotel was a huge bonus to me. There was a gate at the entrance to the... More

Fabulous hidden gem of a hotel nestled in an 'alleyway' 2 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio. Rooms are well appointed in a very shabby chic way. Tiny rooftop bar is really amazing, if a little crowded at peak times. Breakfast was the only disappointment in that it was 'average' rather than superb. But please don't get me wrong it was... It was the rooftop terrace that attracted me to this hotel, and it's super central location. I was not let down. The breakfast was simple but nice, all you really need when you need to leave room for pasta an pizza throughout the day! Our room was quite strange, it had two quite small doors to walk through and it... More

Wow, what an amazing hotel, full of character. The tower is left from an old 13th century palace, and as we checked in we were given a leaflet with a brief history of the place. Lovely room with a four poster bed, but the real gem was the rooftop terrace with a bar. If you book through booking.com and are... More

ideal location 2 streets away from the Ponte vecchio, quick walk to all central squares and sites in old town Florence. Location couldn't be better. Roof top terrace (with delightful bar) giving birds eye view all around. Excellent staff, excellent English and very helpful. Bed Rooms very small with little storage. Breakfast poor. But all this outweighed by fantastic location.... More

This historical gem is absolutely charming and just around the corner of Ponte Vecchio. Very friendly and helpful staff. Building has 3 floors with rooms (most no view, either to a wall or open space of next building). From 3rd floor, you can take a narrow wooden spiral staircase up to the highest charming little roof terrace of the old... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
