We wanted to stay right in town, and have a kitchenette for four days, and this Residence met these requirements. We had a great view of the plaza, and had excellent restaurants at our front door. The Duomo is a few minutes walk, and it was safe at night to wander around. There's an old style lift, which only starts... More

This was a perfect location for a base to explore Florence. Stayed for 3 nights at the end of July, so the excellent air con was essential! Our aparment had a big double bed, good shower room and a small kitchen (which we did not use) but would've been useful for a longer stay, large wardrobe, free safe and a... More

Dear Bows, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We are very glad to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Residence. Our guests are our priority, and we are happy to see that you appreciated our services. You interpreted the Residence as we do - more of an "apartment in Florence" rather than a mere room to... It was hard to find the hotel we had to check in at, which was at a different location than the apartment. We searched up the address for the hotel on a GPS map, the location showing was wrong. After asking for directions three times from locals, we found it. Check in was OK, and we were showed to our... More

Just about everything was perfect with this hotel, it is a little bit of a pain that the reception is in another hotel but its 5 min up the road so its not to inconvenient. The location and the building the apartment is in is tremendous, everything with the room was great but only issue was the wifi, we paid... More

No idea how ppl like this place, it screams creepy. Even when u check into hotel lanzi, that hotel is creepy too. Plus the air conditioning doesnt work until nighttime so you can sweat during day hours if u stop back in for a break. The location is easy, but thats it. The bed is so old and the most... More

I don't have too many positive things to say about this "hotel" - only that I should have read the fine print more closely. PROS: - Location is excellent. CONS: - There is no lobby. To check in or check out, you have to walk 3 city blocks (5-10min) and drag your luggage with you. It is not only inconvenient,... More

The hotel is in a central location in Florence. Within 10 minutes walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. Close to many great restaurants and sites. The staff was very accommodating, I requested an early check-in and they were great at cleaning and setting up the room on time. I would absolutely stay here again the next time... More

Modern hotel room in very central location. Chose not to cook but kitchen area looked fine. All mod cons. Staff in sister hotel for check in very friendly and efficient. Only minor point is it stated that toiletries were provided and they weren't. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel for around 60 Euros per night and what we got was well beyond expectation. The hotel faces Piazza Repubblica and we lucked out and got a room with a balcony facing the centre of the square. We were a little concerned that it would be very loud at night, but the sound proofing was excellent. You... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
