We booked this hotel for around 60 Euros per night and what we got was well beyond expectation. The hotel faces Piazza Repubblica and we lucked out and got a room with a balcony facing the centre of the square. We were a little concerned that it would be very loud at night, but the sound proofing was excellent. You... More

We didn't know what to expect when we booked on line except that we wanted some where central since we planned only a 24-hour stopover en route to Cinque Terre. The rating wasn't very high either but the pricing was extremely good for its location. A quick 8-minute cab ride from the Termini, got dropped off by the Piazza Della... More

We stayed at residence la repubblica for five nights and the room was fantastic. Functioning and quiet air conditioning, kitchenette and lovely bathroom. Large rooms with blankets and sheets. Only issues I had were that the wi-fi was not free. We got a deal on the room, but the average prices are so high, wi-fi should absolutely be included. Our... More

Me and my husband spent 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment and absolutely loved it. It was clean, had all the amenities you would need and had loads of Italian charm and character. The location was really central. Just 10 mins from the station and a perfect place to explore the city. You have to check in at a... More

Great location - central to everything and a great price for a one bedroom apartment in this location. Lift up to apartment, so no need to carry heavy bags up stairs. Equipped with small kitchenette and lounge area and good sized bathroom and shower. Although right in Piazza la Repubblica, there was no noise in apartment at night. Would definitely... More

Only a 10 min walk from the station you can walk it, reception hotel easy to find, apartment is just right for a base but minimal kitchen only ok for breakfast and snacks, on arrival clean and fresh wifi available at reasonable 15 euros a week but will only allow 1 device at a time beds really comfy the views... This was a lovely apartment right in the heart of activity in Florence. There was plenty of space for the 3 of us although the second bedroom was more of a loft and didn't afford much in the way of privacy. Not really a bit deal for us though. The room didn't offer much in the way of a view... More

Staying here just felt like we are locals living in Florence. Its an old building like others in Florence center and there is no reception in this building (its in another building some blocks away). But it is a very different experience and It just feels like you are entering a normal apartment. We had stayed in so many hotels... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
