Central location about 10 minutes walk from station and cbd. Rooms were quite large and had two bedrooms and two toilets for our family of four. Decor was tired but clean. Kitchen in room was very substandard and no facilities provided other than few plastic cups which really needs review. Laundromat and bottle shop across the road which was very handy also lovely little pizzeria. Room on 2nd floor faced street and was terribly noisy on Saturday night!!!! Service not as bad as others say but staff certainly don’t go out of their way nor are welcoming but obliging and polite enough to respond to questions.
The rooms are apartment style which need refreshing and updating sporadic items of furniture with no purpose smells stale and smells from the drains very noisy from street noise from the restaurant opposite if you are on the street side prehistoric hairdryer breakfast good but will definitely be visiting Florence again but not this hotel 2 star at best
Having visited Florence a number of times over more than 40 years, I would rate this hotel as just about the best value for money available. It is located just inside the circonvallazione, the broad avenues that mark the limit of the inner city. My room was spacious and featured four outstanding qualities. First, the shower in the bathroom had full water pressure. Too often in Italy, you encounter sluggish pressure in the shower. Second, you could set the water temperature exactly as desired, instead of having to fine-tune the setting to avoid either boiling hot or freezing cold water. Third, the sink was set in a table with a lot of area to put toiletries, also something not too common in hotels anywhere in Europe. Fourth, the refrigerator actually worked and kept water and wine cool. Again, unlike most hotel room refrigerators. Breakfast was generous and varied, service professional and courteous.…
Nice big room but yes could do with an update. Buffet brekfast had a good selection. Good central location however would not recommend walking to train station as quite a distance and cobbled street makes pulling a suitcase quite hard, much easier to take a taxi !
AC described in brochure, but not working...told the desk manager and were informed that they had turned off the AC for the season. No chance to get it back on. We had to open windows since the room was too hot, put up with street noise, sewer smells, cigarette smoke, car exhaust and bugs entering the room because there were no screens. To sleep at night, we had to close windows due to noise, so room was very hot.
Stayed for 3 days, in the newer building, not shown. Pro - great breakfast, quiet, easy walking distance to historic sites, helpful staff, good restaurants near by, lovely courtyard for afternoon coffee or drink. Con - Very small shower, towels could be better, room lighting dim. Would I return - Yes
Our family stayed here for 3 nights on our first visit to Italy based on the recommendation of our travel agent due to buffet breakfast to start the day and being 4 star. Two bedrooms and bathrooms were a plus for family's. This hotel is not 4 star on world standards, the room was dark and out dated, cracked toilet, paint peeling off bathroom walls. It was a little way from the main center if you are not able to walk.
Stayed here at this hotel for 2 nights. Was in a great location. We walked to everything. Even the train station was within walking distance. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, drinks were good in the bar at night, wifi good, room was nice and comfortable- spacious, bathroom clean, just not enough lighting in the room itself. Would stay here again regardless of that.
Had a very good experience here. The hotel is close to the train station, as well as great restaurants. The staff were helpful and the room large. Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed spending time at the terrace on top of our building.
As previous reviewers have stated the premises are dated with odd bits of random furniture. There was a kitchenette which was not in use. The layout of the room was odd with two rooms 'described'as an apartment but not very functional. We had a major problem with mosquitos every night even though we kept the window shut. As a result in trying to despatch the problem clouds of dust emenated from the tops of wardrobe and under the bed which had clearly not been cleaned for months. The air conditioning unit was not efficient and noisy. The breakfasts were European and not much choice for cooked breakfasts which never changed throughout the week. Finally did not have much contact with the staff who did not appear to put themselves out leading to no atmosphere. We got the impression that Florence was the selling point and the hotel staff were going through the motions with no real measurable standards with regards To it's guests. This is not a four star hotel and we would not recommend a stay here.…
