An intimate luxury bed & breakfast, a well-balanced mix of history and modern living. And a great host, very friendly without being "intrusive". Free coffee, biscuits, water, fruits and hand-picked suggestions for dining in the surroundings. Plus a local market near-by. Slight disappointment about the...More
We enjoyed a four night stay in Florence at 1865 Residenza d'epoca! Michel + family were very accommodating, even waking up a bit early one morning to send us off with breakfast before our wine tour. Water and treats are available throughout your stay in...More

In tune with the historic city of Florence, we were staying in a building built in 1865 with wonderful fresco in the ceiling. They offer great coffee throughout the day (free of charge) and even sweet wine and cookies which would cap off a wonderful...More
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.

Apologies for the delay in replying. It takes about 20-25 mins from the airport in a taxi. We arrived by train from Venice and it was only a 10 minute ride from the train station. When flying home, it couldn't have been easier - there is a button you press in the hotel and a taxi turned up 10 minutes later. I think it was about €25 with a tip.
I would thoroughly recommend this place.
