My wife and I stayed at this lovely 5-bedroom boutique hotel last week. I think it's better to get the thought of a traditional "hotel" out of your mind, as 1865 Residenza d'epoca has more of an elegant and urban bed and breakfast kind of...More
This is an incredible boutique hotel close to the heart of the city center. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable with eye catching frescoes on the sealing.

My wife and I stayed 6 nights and were fortunate to get the “Henry James” room. Each of the 5 rooms are names after an author that frequently visited Florence in the 1800s when the house was built. We have traveled extensively in the US...More
A very relaxing stay. The host family took great care of us. Interior was very stylish as well as the rooms. Cozy and comfy bed. Breakfast was just fine, I was satisfied . Many things available during the day, wine or coffee. I would come...More
An intimate luxury bed & breakfast, a well-balanced mix of history and modern living. And a great host, very friendly without being "intrusive". Free coffee, biscuits, water, fruits and hand-picked suggestions for dining in the surroundings. Plus a local market near-by. Slight disappointment about the...More
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.

Apologies for the delay in replying. It takes about 20-25 mins from the airport in a taxi. We arrived by train from Venice and it was only a 10 minute ride from the train station. When flying home, it couldn't have been easier - there is a button you press in the hotel and a taxi turned up 10 minutes later. I think it was about €25 with a tip.
I would thoroughly recommend this place.
