We weren't expecting too much, but even then, our expectations were too high. We arrived, were given our key card, then told our room was on the first floor, and to turn right at the top of the death stairs. Our number was in the 300's, but after walking into a dining room, we searched the floor. Lots of 100...

I booked my room through getaroom.com I received my confirmation that i booked a a room in Hotel Curtatone which was really good. When i arrived to the hotel the receptionist said me that i booked in hotel Argentina-Curtatoneand not in hotel Curtatone which means that the room booked was really bad. I showed the e-mai;/confirmation from getaroom.com and he...

My partner and I have stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I have to say that we were not really impressed with it for a number of reasons that outnumber the good ones. When I called initially I asked the receptionist if my room featured 1 double/queen bed or 2 singles, as I was travelling with my partner. The...

Old uncomfortable mattresses. Old musky beddings. Old rooms. Old everything. Cheap rates, but you get what you pay for. It's near the train station, close to the river. Long walks to the tourist attractions, but manageable. After walking all day, you would like to come home to a decent room to rest, but it is not the case here. The...

Did not like the fact our luggage was kept in an unlocked room on the way to the guest bathroom. Our room was up one flight of stairs, through the breakfast area and then back a series of hallways. Would have been extremely difficult to find our way out in an emergency. They provided a very good breakfast of pastries,...

The location would not be bad, it is close to the railway station and the center but it is just so old... the room was small, really old fashioned and there was not hairdrier and tv... we asked about it at the reception, they got 1 hairdrier for us, but regarding the tv they said that the old ones were...

I have stayed at Hotel Argentina 3 times already (every time at least for a week) and I will keep going back there. It is close to Firenze SMN which is great especially if you have lots of bags, it is in a quiet neighborhood but still close to the city center and all the attractions (10 minutes on foot)....

The hotel is old, but clean. Our beds had clean sheets and the bath plenty of towels. We had tried to make a reservation at another hotel, but it failed. Amoma.com helped us find this place. Nothing to write home about, but its location is breat. Walking distance from train station and the old part of town. the room is...

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Argentina, close to the US Consulate, friendly and helpful staff, fair breakfast. I would come again for sure. Room and bathroom is very small but if you are just spending the night, it is enough.

The room facilities were very old like furnitures, toilet and bed, with unpleasant smell. The small balcony was dirty and many cigarette ends. Wifi very weak and always disconnected. TV even no signals for our first night and shower tape was broken too that shocked us.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
