Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is small and simple. I wouldn’t expect any luxury, the rooms are decent size and has all your amenities. Small breakfast area with a small selection for breakfast, but it’s really cosy. No free WiFi at the hotel. Located right in the central, but on the 4th floor so noise was not a... More

The Olimpia is a budget hotel and so the accommodation is simple but that is more than made up for by the wonderful location - right in the heart of the city - and the excellent, welcoming staff. A generous buffet breakfast is included, eaten in a room with a view of the Duomo and the bustling Piazza Della Repubblica.... More

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, great location. They serve breakfast in the mornings, it's very basic, but serves its purpose. Staff is great and friendly. No free wifi, and room is a little outdated. But huge rooms! Shower is a little tricky, but for 2 nights it's not that bad. Definitely would recommend.

We were pleased with the location of the Hotel Olimpia; in between the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio and easily reached from the train station. The staff were a mix of attitudes. The ladies who checked us in were very friendly and helpful but the man who was manning the desk in the evenings seemed put out by the smallest request,... More

The hotel has an elevator and is located on the third floor of the building. The front desk staff are helpful. There is a daily breakfast there, with a variety of breakfast items. If you are expecting a full american breakfast with eggs, bacon etc , you will not get that, however there is yogurt, cereal, fruit, a variety of... More

Our experience wasn't terrible at Hotel Olimpia. The room was clean, but small, and I'm grateful for their elevator. But the bathroom was something I wasn't used to. I've stayed in several hotels in Europe and I am completely used to the small bathrooms and even smaller showers - I'm completely ok with them! This was different - there wasn't... More

Located in the heart of Florence, and within walking distance of everything you want to see. The hotel was clean, the staff helpful, and the continental breakfast was good (with excellent pastries). The rooms were simple, and the bathrooms were small. This is a 19th century palace, and it is not easy to fit these facilities into an old building.... More

This hotel is centrally located, clean and provides AC. HOWEVER, the hotel is dated and the bathroom is extremely small, even by European standards. The shower is tiny, separated only by a small curtain and shares the same space with toilet, bidet, and sink...This was the only hotel we stayed in across Europe which charged wifi access BY THE HOUR...the... Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
