Stayed in the hotel again on 2 occasions. In my view it has one of the best central locations and excellent facilities. The station is 10 mins walk with access to both regional and national trains. The hotel had undergone a partial revamp and the revamped rooms are fabulous and have access for more English TV channels. I understand that... More

We had a couple of nights in the fabulous little hotel. We loved the rooms which were an upstairs / downstairs type suite with a lounge room and a couple of bathrooms . This hotel is set in a very handy location and the bonus is that it has a swimming pool you can cool off in after a tiresome... More

Spent one night in Florence at this hotel, and if you have limited time in this city, location is perfect, and you can walk everywhere of interest. The hotel is recently renovated and the lobby modern and stylish. Unfortunately they put us in a room that had not yet been remodelled, so we did not see the hotel from its... More

This was a treat for our twentieth wedding anniversary and we didn't regret it. Perfect setting, great service, fabulous rooftop pool and bar. Would do it again! Not easy on the budget so save it for a special occasion or one night in Florence :-)

We visited this hotel on the first leg of our Italian honeymoon for 3 nights. First impressions were great and the recent renovations look fantastic and have been finished to a very high standard. Upon check in we were disappointed to be told that we wouldn't have a renovated room. Normally this wouldn't have worried us at all but given... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We picked this hotel for 3 reasons: parking, pool & location. Location => great. Everything is within walking distance. Pool => How small can you make a pool? There are exactly 12 (!!!) sunbeds for an entire hotel. So: there is NEVER room at the pool. Correction: go after 19h and you... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
