When we arrived they were preparing their Christmas displays which involved a lot of drilling so we were a little concerned however from then on we were very happy with our experience at the Hotel Spadai. It is located just around the corner from the Duomo, and within easy walking distance of all the sights in Florence. Was also a... More

Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Florence. They go out of their way to make sure any request is handled and it is done with a smile. From time of check in, to daily breakfast and everything in between, the staff makes sure every little detail has been thought of.

Unfortunately we only had one night at this hotel. It was perfect. Great beds & breakfasts. Rooms were elegant, classic & modern with a very luxurious feel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. On the 5th floor there is a viewing platform to see the surrounding rooftop views.

We stayed at hotel Spadai for 3 nights in May. You can't ask for a better location. The hotel was really nice with great service. The staff helped us with all the dinner reservations. The room was very clean and great size (specially for European hotels). Highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

Our family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights last week and had a wonderful experience overall. The staff was pleasant and efficient and the hotel is traditional chic. We had a suite which was the perfect size for our family. The pull out sofa was surprisingly comfortable and the main bed was perfectly comfy. We had a view of... More

I have had the pleasure of staying in many hotels worldwide but I can honestly say the the Hotel Spadai gave my wife and I one of the most memorable experiences yet. Beginning with the location, it certainly can't be beat. Step out of the front door of the hotel, look left and what greets you is the stunning Duomo... More

We stayed in the Hotel Spadai for 3 nights in November 2016. The location could not be better - just minutes from the Duomo and all of the shops! The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and very nice bed linen. Spacious bathroom with rain shower (not my bag but some people love them) and plenty of space.... More

Summary: The hotel has beautiful decor, excellent location, average breakfast and below average guests service/experience. Being in Florence's historical area means going by car was a problem. We called the hotel on our way to tell them we'll check in late and only then they told us to follow a different route than that on the website for guests with... More

Dear Maymk, We are really sorry to learn that you considered your stay with us a below average experience. All guests opinions matter to us but we believe that your dissatisfaction in some cases was due to a misinterpretation of our service. In fact the alternative directions that the receptionist suggested you were meant to help you reach us easily... More

Location is great. Literally a minute from the Duomo. Hotel is excellently maintained and staff is very helpful. Be aware that the street can get noisy in the morning with tourists and sleeping late may not be an option.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
