We stayed at The Hotel Spadai in Florence for 3 nights and from start to finish it was a first class experience. From welcome drinks to the turn down service and the warm and friendly staff it was a pleasure to stay there. The rooms are furnished to a high standard and offer a free (basic) mini bar and on... Really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Spadai! We had 2 rooms and were upgraded to amazing suites. The hotel staff was more than accommodating although we had not specific requests. They were always friendly, the breakfast and happy hour food and staff were terrific, and the location was to die for. This was my second time in Florence and... More

Beautiful hotel, perfect location (one block from the Duomo, easily walkable to every attraction), friendly staff, fully stocked free minibar, robes to die for, slippers, perfect air conditioning, delicious daily free happy hour snacks.....I could go on....Truly great value for your money--not the cheapest, but a cut above all the rest! I can't wait to return!!!!

Ok where do I begin. The location alone makes this hotel a great option, but on top of that the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I loved the waterfall shower head in the bathroom and the overall aesthetic and style of the room. The hotel has a rooftop viewing chamber of sorts which provides excellent views of nearby architecture.... More

This hotel has been completely renovated and it is beautiful. We were delighted with the surprise from the staff that we were being upgraded to suites for all three of our rooms--such a treat! The location can't be beat--only a few steps from the Duomo, Uffizi and Accademia. The breakfast was delicious, mini bar items were included with the room... More

We had the most comfortable stay in Florence at this hotel. Location is excellent! Just steps away from the attractions and it is so central that you can never get lost! 10 mins from the train station- we walked to and back with our heavy luggage and we were ok! Staff- super friendly and accommodating. We were greeted with a... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2016. Fantastic location, just a block away from the Duomo, near good restaurants and gelato! New, clean, luxurious furnishings, bathroom facilities. Very nice complimentary breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff, who arranged for cabs, and gave us restaurant recommendations. Only two small down-sides: the internet in our room was very slow, despite notifying the... More

My husband and I booked into the Hotel Spadai for 2 nights of our honeymoon. The hotel was a 10 minute walk away (if that) from the Santa Maria Novella train station. On check-in we were met with a fantastic welcome from the hotel staff who informed us that due to my email to inform them that this was our... More

This is our last morning at Hotel Spadai, before heading to Vatican City. They really chose the right name for the place, because the experience was really just what the doctor ordered o this 10 day trip to Italy. Every day you want to see it all, walking, touring, eating and drinking. From the moment you walked in, you were... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
