The hotel doesn't look much from the outside, but it is surprisingly stylish on the iside Location: Hotel is conventiently right next to the train station (Firenze S.M.N) Very central and near the main attractions - 10 minute walk to the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, 15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Staff: Helpful, polite and... More

Nicely decorated and very clean rooms but useless air conditioning - everyone in our group complained about it as the rooms were all incredibly hot! The breakfast was plentiful and good quality but no milk in the rooms for coffee and until the bar opens at 5.30 you can't get anything to eat or drink during the day. Great location... More

We have stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel's location is fantastic as it is right next to the station. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only minus point is the breakfast which were average compares to others in florence. However, we enjoyed staying here.

We checked in here for 3 nights for our honeymoon. Positives: very modern & clean hotel, mattress was comfortable, blow dryer provided, shower was great, very cool bar area. Negatives: view is either of the bus station or the train station (if you are looking for a hotel with a view this is not for you), wifi is horrible in... More

Found this hotel on trip advisor. We took the train around Italy and it was SO awesome to get out of the train and walk right over to our hotel. For the train being next to the hotel you do not get bothered by the train noise at all. We had awesome breakfast spread every morning. The staff helped us... More

My room overlooks the railway station and I can even see duomo! There's a little balcony where you can enjoy a cup of tea while enjoying the scenery. But I couldn't do it during the freezing winter period. We walked to everywhere conveniently. Places of attraction, restaurants are everywhere. Facilities are great as well like the state of cleanliness, hotel... More

Booked 2 nights stay in this hotel. Check-in was smooth. Hotel located closely to Firenze S.M.N station. Very convenient and accessible location with short walks to Duomo and Piazza Della Republica, Uffizi Gallery as well as the Acadamia Gallery. Local restaurants are located nearby too. Hotel room is cosy and has warm ambience with dim lighting. Breakfast so so -... More

My daughter and I visited Florence recently and stayed at the Hotel Ambasciatori. We were really pleased with the hotel. The location is excellent, just across the road from the main train station and near bus and tram stops. Our room was completely soundproof so we were not disturbed by the traffic. The room was clean and comfortable. There was... More

Was there with family and location was great. Trips to pisa leave from nearby location and you can walk to duomo. Indian restaurant was nearby a train stop away as well. Roos were clean but the Internet connection was very slow. The front desk kept our luggage after checkout until we safely collected it.

Just across the street to the train station (even though not a disturbing matter at all) Rooms are very spacious, classy and nice, behind the hotel is the shopping area and the Firenze Duomo, breakfast was just right, staff very helpful. Will go back again, recommended.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
