Nice hotel. We had a lovely view over Florence from our balcony. The outside door is amazingly soundproof however, the door to the main corridor was not as good. We seemed to have a large group of young people all staying on our floor, they were really noisy running up and down the corridor so this really affected our sleep.... More

nice pleasurable stay after a long trip to Florence from New Zealand. Rooms were clean, tidy and very relaxing. Staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast which was included in the price was a perfect way to fill up on energy for the day ahead.

I chose this hotel for 2 reasons: Good experience at the Ambasciatori Hotel in Milan and was driving to Florence and was worried about the ZTL driving zones. The hotel is facing the train station and unless you need to take the train, I don't recommend you to stay in the area. It is outside the center (short distance) but... More

The hotel we choose because is the location. Hotel just opposite the train station within 1 minutes walk. The front staffs is not so welcome compare other Italy hotel. They should improve more aggressive. The room we booked is small double room include breakfast. Room space is enough with the balcony. That was nice. You can see the church Piazza... More

The hotel is renovated partially and was under further renovation while we were there. The room itself was quite good and comfortable. The room was quite noisy, you can hear things from the neighbouring rooms and above. It was very confusing getting to our room use one bank of elevators to a certain level and then walk a fair distance to... More

We were 6 girls on a trip and this was perfect for us. Close to the trainstation and close enough to the main things we wanted to see and do. Nice restaurant next door. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

I stayed at hotel in July part of a tour group. It was the most disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed in. The stench was of sewage. The smell never went away. The only good thing about this hotel was the air conditioning

When you first pull up to the the hotel, it doesn't look like much. It's across the street from the metro station and the street looks shady. However, once you step in you realize this hotel means to impress. What a treat upon walking in. The hotel grounds and rooms are wonderfully air-conditioned. The staff is super friendly. The hotel... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
