This hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood but not far from points of interests in Florence. The staff is accommodating and kind for us who came all the way from the Philippines. The rooms are spacious for an Italian hotel and equipped with modern fixtures. The bathroom on our room was nice, huge and well equipped. Rooms are...

An excellent hotel a little way from the city centre of Florence, but within easy walking distance to the main railway station and city centre. My daughter and I walked safely along the beautiful river front to and from our hotel even at night from the city centre. The hotel staff were excellent, the rooms were clean and very comfortable...

I booked this place for three nights and could not have been happier. Well I probably could have been but I mean I could not have been happier for the money. My expectations were more than met by this property. Check in swift, fast and cordial, I had a few encounters with the check in staff and they have some...

Excellent location, walkable from the train station. The staff could not have been better, they were all very friendly. Our room was bit noisy the first night as it had a locked door to the next room and next was very noisy. Second night was quiet though. room was very comfortable. The roof top bar is highly recommended as a...

It can be hard to find a quiet spot in Italian cities, but this hotel is located perfectly: close to the city center but in a very quiet neighbourhood. Perfect for a good nights sleep! Beautiful breakfast restaurant on the top floor overlooking Florence. Coffee made to order, good selection of food including cereals and yoghurt and fresh fruit. The...

The room was clean, bath with all facilities, breakfast rich. The restaurant offers some dishes, esquisite, staff is friendly. I highly...

I took my wife here for our anniversary and the staff were amazing. We got a free bottle of prosecco and a room upgrade which was very generous. The breakfasts were fab and it was a nice location close to the train station and only a 10 min walk to city centre. The hotel was immaculate and had large rooms....

Hotel staff are helpful and know how to speak English. The hotel itself is situation about 10 to 15 minutes away from the old part of the city (Ponte Vecchio and Duomo) but it's a nice walk along the river bank and if it's not raining :) The rooms are clean and nicely furnished with quiet surroundings. The hotel offers...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
