We arrived at 2.50pm, which was only 10 mins before scheduled check-in time at 3pm. We were greeted by an elderly Italian lady. She didn't speak English but we managed to explain to her using body language that we had a reservation here. She then called out to another staff who emerged from the garden after several minutes, looking completely upset. He started scolding us at the reception area and questioned why we arrived early. The nagging went on for about 10 mins. Basically the entire duration of the check-in. He said things like, "why didn't you read your email about check in time?" or "don't think you can blame us for this!" We were in utter shock. I didn't say anything then, mainly because I was speechless. The 2 nights we spent there wasn't too bad, though we were out most of the day. There was a couple (guests) fighting loudly at 1am on the first night, slamming doors and things - which was a tad scary because our room door rattled as well, as it is an old house. But other than that, we barely saw anyone else at the villa except for the check-in manager at the breakfast room (I think his name is Raoul). He was calmer of course for the next two days, but didn't say or smile much either. Overall, I'd say stay at your own risk and if you don't mind, the lack of hospitality. It was quite an experience for us, having been scolded for the very first time by a receptionist/manager for arriving a little early. The villa is definitely quaint and well-preserved. I just wish they invested a bit more into their service.

Never having stayed in a Villa before, my husband and I were not sure if this would suit us. However, Villa Nardi was a wonderful choice and we were so happy we chose this beautiful place to spend our first visit to Florence. We were very impressed with our first view of this lovely building set in its own grounds and were welcomed warmly by a lovely lady on reception. We took the lift to the third floor to be met with an antiques filled floor. Our room was a delightful spacious room. Breakfast in the old kitchen was fresh and plentiful. We took our coffee out on to the patio to enjoy the garden. Signora and Signore Nardi gave us a personal guided tour of their home which was studded with family treasures and the magnificent paintings which had been executed by the matriarch of the family. It is just a 20 minute walk into town with a bar or two on the way. A bus stop is also not far from the Villa. There are restaurants near Villa Nardi for which Signora Nardi will happily provide directions. The family and staff made our 5 night stay in the Villa Nardi a wonderful experience.

Upon arrival at this pretty hotel we were greeted by a very friendly helpful receptionist... she was very helpful pointing us in the right direction for getting some lunch... the hotel is clean comfortable and in a fab location. You can access Florence by foot or get a bus which stops on the corner next to the hotel... the only down side to this place is that they have no tea/coffee facilities in the room and the kitchen area was locked. The air conditioning in our room was also broken and no fan available, as I was going to a wedding drying my hair was a nightmare also they didn’t have a mirror in the bedroom only in the bathroom lots of frizz due to steam in the bathroom. But apart from that a comfortable stay..,

We came here for one evening on a very last minute booking. The receptionist was delightful, really friendly and made us feel really welcome. She also spoke amazing English which was of course handy for us! The hotel is a traditional old style hotel but it is exactly what it claims to be. Good Location and a private car park. We would return!
