Lovely hotel with lovely owners who provide lovely complimentary breakfast. Nothing beats little Italian hotels. The owners who are usually a family living there themselves relate to you as if you are their relative. Hospitality at its best. Hotel Liberty provides a big range of selections in their breakfast buffet - all complimentary. We loved it. It felt like our... More

Nice little hotel on the outskirts on the south side of the Arno river. The room had a balcony facing the main road but it was quite small but since I was alone and only in it to sleep, it wasn't a problem. It was located about 3 km from the center of Florence. A nice walk but also a... More

We stayed in hotel for one night and as many other, we booked it because of free parking. The free parking is not in the hotel property (this costs 10 EUR per day) but across the road on a public parking lot. So the free parking is a bit misleading but our car was fine there over night. The villa... More

We stayed one night September 2015 on a driving trip through Europe. We booked this hotel based on free parking availability and cost. The hotel is situated in the outskirts of the city centre on a lovely street (a street which the hop on hop off bus actually drives down and mentions for its renaissance architecture). We arrived mid morning... More

The hotel is located on a pleasant tree lined street. Although we were unable to check in early, there is free and easy parking across the street in the lot. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop, which takes you directly to the city center. (The hotel map also says that it is a 25 min walk... More

We were staying with friends near Siena, and needed to drive to Florence for a one night stay before flying out the next day. We have stayed at Hotel David, just down the street, which is a fabulous place, but they had no rooms available. Since we made the reservation only a few days out, our choices were rather limited,... The hotel is a 30 min (brisk) walk to the center of Florence. The first thing we noticed when we entered was that the entire hotel had a really strong smell of scent candles (maybe to cover damp?). On returning from a day out in Florence I accidentally went into the breakfast room. There was food was left on the... More

This was in a nice area walking distance from the centre. Good wifi. Nothing else in my room worked, TV, PowerPoints. It wasn't soundproof either. I was glad I only stayed one night, and that it was cheap. Nice reception staff.

This hotel is very close to piazzale Michelangelo. Slightly away from the city center, you can easily walk downtown, or go up to the wonderful view of PIazzale Michelangelo. The room I got was small and cute, with air conditioning, and a tiny bathroom. Overall, a cute hotel. Maybe a better choice for whoever has a car.

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!

“As it was a traditional family house, so better stay in the former main room, wich has more space and facilities...but all the rooms seemed ok to me, after giving a quick look on them.”

“One of the room on the last floor has a funny balcony which is like a walk-in closet without roof. if allows light and fresh air in the room, but lack views. It has chairs and small table which is convenient if you smoke. But if you don't you might want to ask for other room with window instead of balcony.”
