When I booked the above mentioned hotel I was mostly tempted by the good location and the private parking for my car. Very old hotel without renovation, very poor lobby area, also very average breakfast and extremely dirty windows as well as the whole exterior of the hotel. The reception staff were friendly, smiling, and helpful but the owners/management seem to...

Stayed here for 2 nights with 2 friends. A nice breakfast to start the day. Hotel is close to the train station and a 15 minutes walk will have you in the center of Florence. Staff very helpful, a quick and easy check in & out. The room was bigger than some we stayed in on our travels we had...

Good position for visiting Florence, close (10 minutes walking) to the most important turistic locations (Duomo, Uffizi gallery..), convenient prices and, most important, free parking, which is a great plus for Florence! Unfortunately the parking is not bookable. I've been lucky finding the last lot and that saved me some money (15 € per day is the cheapest parking near...

A nice hotel outside of the center if you dont mind walking 15/20 mins to the old center. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was good enough. Breakfast was also good. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Or walk to the old city center. Has private parking and free wifi.

A nice stay at a clean, nice hotel. We chose this hotel in large part due to the parking they had. When we arrived, the parking lot was full. The gentleman behind the desk was very helpful, but kept repeating the parking was not guaranteed as indicated on the web page. Having a rental car, we had to have safe...

Room size was good. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, the shower was above the bath but there was nothing to stop water spraying all over the floor. The room was clean. Safe was broken, we were given access to hotel safe if needed. Aircon did not work initially but was fixed the next day.

Hotel is five minute walk to the train station, fifteen minutes to the main touristy area, Laundry close by. Restaurants within five - ten minute walk. Hotel itself was basic, clean and tidy, breakfast was a typical breakfast in Italy, boiled eggs, pastries, toast tea and coffee.

Not far from the railway station, nice to be 'out of busy tourist area', room is nice standard and firm bed. Our room had view of orange tree which is nice. Friendly staffs, breakfast is okay as there are limit choice as they could do with more various choice. I would stay there again if I plan to visit Florence....

We stopped here unexpectedly on our drive from Venice to Rome. Reception was helpful. Price was very reasonable. Good location to access the historic Center. Room was clean and convenient parking. Only issue was that the extra bed couldn't be pulled out from under the master. No idea how they got it under there but our kids ended up sharing...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
