The musty carpets tell you right away this place is awful. We got stuck in the elevator as soon as we got there and when asked if this happens often, they didn't respond, so it must. Don't go in the elevator! The room I got assigned had a door open to a small, dirty alleyway where you can hear plumbing for the hotel and I was concerned about rodents/animals (let alone people) coming right into my room. I asked if I could change rooms ( I would even pay the extra cost) and they said no they were booked. Although we only saw one other person there the whole time, so they must only have a few rooms that are presentable. The clerk and service was terrible. I went and got another hotel for about the same price down the street. This was after the clerk told me you won't be able to find anything. Find another hotel, this place is awful!

The place stunk of musty cigarettes. There was no air so we had to open window that faced a block wall with no air circulating. The guy below smoked and it went right into the room. We were eaten by mosquitoes and there were bugs on the walls Absolutely disgusting. I complained and got no where. For breakfast cappuccino was good but croissants stale. He promised to move us to a new room but did not follow through. I can not even give them a half a circle. I think there are hostels that are cleaner. The prepaid train tickets and seats from Florence to Venice which identifies your train number, train car, and designated seats was a total fiasco there were suppose to be 10 train cars and ours seats were supposed to be in car 8, the train that arrived had only 7 car lengths. So we had to sit with our luggage in between 6 and the 7th car in the exit stairwell. From this email, I will be going viral with our issues via Social Media ASAP! We looked so forward to this trip and a once lifetime vacation to be turned into a fiasco. Dany

Nice hotel absolutely in the center of the city, one block away from the Academy Gallery and 10 minute walk to the Duomo and 15-20 minutes walk to most other attractions I was happy with the hotel overall, a word of caution though, there are single steps in the corridors and also in the room bathroom. This may cause problems with your bags and be careful in the bathroom Breakfast was ok

From the moment we entered the hotel I knew that it was a mistake to stay there. The carpet was nasty and stained and buckling up in multiple places. The entire place smelled musty. Similar to a Goodwill or a closet full of old clothes or antique furniture. There was mold/mildew everywhere. There was an obvious leak from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor sitting area with big chunks of paint falling from the ceiling. The shower was smaller than my camper shower. The water shot out of the nozzle in numerous different directions. The shower doors had to be lifted up to close completely The bedspread was so disgusting I took it off and put it in the armoire and then immediately sanitized my hands! The bathroom and bed linens appeared to be clean. The breakfast was dry cereal, yogurt, toast, croissants and fruit. A big disappoint from our 3 previous hotels in Paris, Rome and La Spezia. When we checked out we did encounter one gentleman at that front desk that was very helpful with transportation to the train station. The others were mediocre. Don’t believe the ratings!!!!! Giving this place a 2 is being generous. Location is great!

Sooo it was just ok. I got about 7-8 mosquito bites in April bc we had to open a window bc it was so humid and stuffy. It opened to an empty space courtyard, and didn't have screens. So I got bit ridiculously. Wasn't very pleasant. Breakfast was ok. Not extensive, but sufficient. Bathrooms are very small. Elevator wasn't working the whole time we were there (2 nights/3 days), so be prepared to carry your luggage up multiple flights of stairs. The location is ideal, so if they got a facelift and update, they'd be able to probably charge a lot more. In other words, if you're ok with barebones and just want a great, inexpensive solution that is centrally-located, go for it.
