We had to use as emergency. No other hotels available. It was a bed but no one felt comfortable enough to even shower. Needs serious renovations. Location was only good thing. $100 a nite, but not really worth that.

I had a very, very positive stay at Bonciano hotel. Knew that the place was certainly not 5*, but for such a price at a great location, very near Station and attractions and cultural Heritage it was great!!!! Why are people always complaining ...... In Holland there is a saying: " wanting the front row for a nickel !" And...

Close to train station. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Room on the main street (Via Panzani) is very loud all night. Very modest accommodations, but it is a lower cost hotel for Florence. Quite rooms in the back but no wifi connection. Get what you pay for.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Close to the train station (Santa Maria Novella Station) and other attractions. Buffet breakfast is not bad. WiFi works well. Cons: Hotel is aged. Weak AC. The hotel has a smell of old building. Lift was not working during my stay. Please keep in mind that this is a budget hotel and it is not for...

I Stayed Here At The End Of September 2016 & Chose This Hotel Because Of It's Location ( Five Minutes Walk From Santa Maria Novella Station & Very Close To The Duomo ). The Room Was Very Small & Over Looked The Main Road Via Panzani Which Is Noisy Day & Night. The Decor & Furnishings Were Very Basic &...

To begin with I am not a fussy traveler and all i need is a decent bed and clean room. But even i was terribly disappointed by the hotel. I will start of with the only positive thing about the hotel, it's location. Located near the station and close to the cathedral, with lots of cafe and food option around,...

This hotel is in a perfect location, the station (Santa Maria Novella) is minutes away, Il Duomo is also a very short walk away plus all other places you would want to visit in this beautiful city. The staff are great but the hotel is a little tired, storage for clothes is limited in the room although our room was...

Chose this hotel as only five minutes from station and central location. Easy to walk to main sites. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Well stocked buffet breakfast. Free wi-fi and early morning calls at no extra cost. Only one fault, air con did not work very well, mind you it was in middle of August and very hot!

The reviews on this hotel really do not tell the whole story. I am not a fussy person, all I ask is a clean room that I can come home to after exploring. This hotel is tired to say the least. It looks as though it was lovely 20 years ago and no maintenance has been done since! I must...

This hotel was one of the worst I've been to, but I haven't been to too many bad ones. Bonciani's rooms were so old and destroyed. Breakfast was a joke, the pictures that look good on Trip Advisor were deceiving, the bad ones were the honest ones. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend this to another Family, maybe just a...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
