I loved my classic room here, which was a very generous size and beautifully decorated, with a walk-in wardrobe and a sofa as well as a desk and a huge, very comfortable bed. Great blackout blinds on the windows too, and a very nice bathroom with excellent shower. It really was a very pleasant surprise given the price, and I would rate the room as one of the nicest I've stayed in.

Obviously the location is ideal, right by the Ponte Vecchio on a very quiet traffic-free street, and only a few minutes walk to most of the key sights in Florence. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The only disappointment was the very low key lobby, although I think that might only be in use to maintain a one way system during the pandemic.

The roof terrace is a real find for evening drinks with a view but you must book as it's very small and open to non-guests as well. And service can be slow, so allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy it if you have dinner reservations to get to. I would definitely stay here when I'm next in Florence

We choose the Continentale because when you come to Florence "One must have a Room with a View" and we did, we had a very spacious room overlooking the Arno and watched the rowers in the mornings sculling and pleasant views across the rive.

All the staff are super helpful wether it be dinner reservations or umbrellas.

Because of covid we had to take breakfast at the sister hotel next door, which in a way was a bonus as you can eat outside and take in the views.

The hotel has a great location, the Ponte Vecchio is right outside the door the Uffizi is 8 minutes walk, there is excellent shopping nearby and the Duomo is 12 minutes walk.

The roof bar in the evening if a nice place to relax over a glass of something, we went twice, it would have been three but the weather interviend , make sure to book, the only negative is that the drinks are expensive compared to the roof top bars, I have no problem paying a premium but felt it was a touch too much.

If your are flying in take the tram to the final stop and walk its quicker than a taxi and about 13 minutes with a large wheeled suitcase, download the Nugo app to buy your ticket €1.50 one way !

The Hotel itself is situated right on the Ponte Vecchio, which is an obvious focal point for those coming to Florence though the bridge itself is only interesting based on the Vasari Corridor above, it does not detract from the amazing location the hotel is in with the ability to walk to every single key point of interest in 7 minutes or less.

The Staff at the hotel were extremely warm and appeared genuinely happy to have us. We were treated to an upgrade to a suite which was phenomenal and we thank you the Hotel for this kindness, as even though we are on our Honeymoon we truly appreciate a hotel going out of its way. This also included a welcome bottle of Prosecco and helping organise our Covid arrival tests as required by Italian law but facilitated through the hotel.

La Terraza the rooftop terrace truly has some spectacular views and you do pay for the that with some of the more expensive cocktails in Florence. However the Barman on our arrival (Youngish chap with a beard) was extremely knowledgable and happy to create some special cocktails we requested having been quite particular. Which this service is why we were happy spending the money and indeed came back no less than 3 times on our visit...however on the 4th time which was the 5th of September there was a different Barman (Slightly older and bald) was quite dismissive and frankly didn't appear to care about what he was making, the lady also supporting the Barmen across those three days was brilliant and remembered us from the first and to her we are very thankful for the time and effort a true Star. ((I am sorry for not having collected the names of the respective barman and have to refer to them by look, that failing is mine))

Great hotel and location. Would rrecommendto any staying in Florence.

We stayed at the Continentale for 3 nights on our honeymoon. We fully appreciated the perfect location right on the Ponte Vecchio and very close walking to almost everything noteworthy in the city. The room was a nice size with a very comfortable bed. Staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and housekeeping kept our room so pristine. Rooftop drinks is a must, the view during sunset is incredible and the drinks and snacks are delicious. Complimentary breakfast across the street at Lugarno was very good with pastries, croissants, fruit etc each morning. Would definitely recommend to stay here on your trip to Florence

Excellent experience. Pricey, but I couldn’t ask for a better location. The staff are friendly and helpful, I was assisted in making dinner plans and obtaining a taxi. We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop bar, which is small and comfy and requires a reservation. I was upgraded and was delighted w my room. I didn’t see any children, which suggests that it may be ideal for friends and especially couples, as it is truly romantic. Worth the price tag. Please note that due to its location (literally in front of the (ponte Vecchio) you will experience street noise.

I booked 3 nights at the hotel and was totally charmed. For one the location is very central and just at the feet of the amazing Ponte Vecchio and second it is minutes from all the main attractions of the city.

I booked a single room and got upgraded to a very beautiful double continental room. The deco is modern and very nice and everything is very functional.

Everybody at the hotel is very helpful and nice while being discreet which is a plus to me.

The breakfast at the caffe dell’Oro is very good, actually the restaurant is really good and should be patronized in the evening.

I liked it so much that I decided to book another night at the end of my Italian trip.

I would recommend it a 100%!

This was the best stay, not only in Florence but in Italy! The service alone was amazing! You can tell they take pride in this. They are so attentive to all the small details and make you feel so welcome every time you walk in the door. The check in concierge was amazing and wanted you in comfort and at ease right away. The porter took our bags to our room while we were waiting and always opened the doors for you, offered you an umbrella or drink every time he saw you and offered to call our taxi when we left.
The room was a 2 story Room with a balcony overlooking the river! It was stunning and the housekeeping staff was always in top of everything and the turndown service left the room with a lovely romantic ambience.
The location was prime! Right outside the door is the Ponte Vecchio bridge with all the shops and evening street entertainment. It was a 15-30 min walk to almost all points of interest.
We traveled from Rome to Florence to Venice and although the other hotels were very nice, Continentale set the bar so high that I am almost disappointed with the rest.
I wouldn't consider a different hotel if and when we return to Florence.

Marvelous staff who made us feel welcome and were very helpful. Special thanks to Sara and Luca for their assistance. We enjoyed a comfortable, large room with plush towels and nice toiletries (becoming rare these days) and the location just off the Ponte Vecchio is perfect! We came in 1998 for our 25th anniversary and returned for our 50th. The rooftop terrace is now a bar (was the place for both breakfast and aperitifs in the past), but still has the great view of the Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Boboli Gardens and Arno. We'll come back sooner!

We spent here just one night to celebrate my Birhday.
Welcomed by a smiling and attentive receptionist, who explained to us all the services available at the hotel. Room was ready, although earlier than check-in time. We received an upgrade, thanks to the special occasion we were celebrating. Nothing to flaw: immaculate, large room with a view over the infamous Ponte Vecchio.
I particuarly enjoyed the toiletries and the set of amenities at Lungarno Collection, whch are of an higher quality.
Breakfast at the nearby Caffè dell'Oro was sumptuous, with so many options that any taste could have been pleased.
The staff both at the hotel and in the restaurant were so polite and attentive: they gave us good tis on where to eat at night, and they even let us store the luggage for the entire day a no charge, which I appreciated.
Please do.t forget to visit the rooftop terrace (pictures attached), from where yu can enjoy an uncanny view ove Florence skyline.

In March this year I was fortunate to have chosen Hotel Continentale while visiting Florence. The hotel is not a Four Seasons nor Ritz Carlton, but its service standard is totally up to par with the market’s big players. The entrance and the reception area are typical European boutique hotel style, small but cozy. We were greeted upon arrival by the ever-cheerful Ashraf, who helped us with luggage and offered us coffee and espresso while the delightful and jolly Alison assisted us with room assignments. We were assigned to two pleasantly designed and spacious rooms with a balcony that offers a pleasant partial view over the Arno, and were pleased to find the bathrooms were stocked with Ferragamo toiletries. During our stay Cristina of the front desk had given us useful information about the city and various transportation tips resourcefully, while the gentlemanly Leonardo assisted us with whatever he thought we might require, from ordering taxi to restaurant recommendations. In a certain evening Leonardo showed me to the hotel’s roof bar (which was closed during winter) that has a magnificent view of the river and the city’s landscape. Leonardo patiently and enthusiastically pointed to me the beautiful San Miniato al Monte and the Piazzale Michelangelo on the other side of the river, the orange dome of the Florence Cathedral that bathed silently in the gentle twilight flame, the Giotto’s Bell Tower next to it, and further away the unmistakably grandiose structure of the Basilica di Santa Croce. For breakfast, it was served inside a pleasantly designed restaurant opposite the hotel. The buffet breakfast is not as sumptuous as a Bangkok 5-star, yet the selections are decent and comprehensive, and the pastries are particularly good. Upon checking out, it was Roberto who assisted us with the luggage and taxi, like Ashraf and Leonardo, he was another pleasant staff of the hotel. Lastly, I must congratulate the hotel’s general manager, whoever you are, you and your management team must have done a wonderful job in leading and running the hotel, your efforts have certainly paid off.
