Located in the old town of Florence, the Rivoli Boutique Hotel offers class hospitality with charm, as well as spacious and elegantly decorated hotel rooms and suites. The Rivoli Boutique Hotel is a 4-star superior hotel that is set inside a restored 14th-century Franciscan convent, where guests can breath the charming and unique atmosphere of this ancient historic building in the city of Florence. The restoration has highlighted the architectural details dating back to 1500 such as arches and vaults, coffered ceilings and stone columns. Guests are welcomed in an enchanting setting full of cozy atmosphere, embellished by refined common areas, which are conceived as an oasis of tranquility away from the hectic pace of the city. The Internal Patio, which was obtained from a complete renovation of the Franciscan cloister, is now dedicated to relaxation and wellbeing, featuring an unforgettable 20 sqm-whirlpool that is also open during the winter with a constant water temperature of 36° C. The location could not be better, a few steps from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, the Duomo Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio Bridge, opposite the ancient and famous Officina Profumo di Santa Maria Novella, and the most important museums. In addition to the interior elegant and spacious patio, the Rivoli Boutique Hotel guests can enjoy the quiteness of the small "garden of medlar", an exceptional lounge where to spend moments of real relax; in summer time the garden is available for breakfast and dinners prepared and served by Benedicta Restaurant , 3 Michelin forks.

What a fantastic hotel and great location and staff were all very professional and friendly. Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife, would stay here again in a heartbeat. Train station just 5 mins walk and great for local restaurants in the area. Thank you Rivoli for making our stay special.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Rivoli Boutique Hotel! My husband and I stayed here for five nights in early December. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Florence: a couple minute walk from the train station, several wonderful restaurants (Il Latini, Trattoria 13 Gobbi, Osteria Pastella, Osteria di Giovanni) bars, shops, grocery store, etc., in the very near vicinity, main sights like the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, etc. are short walks away, also. Our breakfast was included and was a great start to each morning. The staff working the breakfast restaurant each morning (and the hotel bar in the evening!) were some of the sunniest and friendliest people we encountered during our whole stay in the city. The front desk staff were so helpful when we had questions and gave great recommendations. Our room was large with comfortable bed and great shower. It was a perfect home base to come back to each night after days of exploring and walking. We will absolutely stay here again when we come to Florence!

We stayed in this hotel and enjoyed except for some important details: no heating in the room (it was even colder in the room than outside), poor maintenance and decoration of the room (nothing to put the briefcase on. We had to put it on the floor, IKEA style closet), the bathroom was quite small. These details explain our 2 points note although the staff and the situation of the hotel were great. The hotel needs some improvements to look like a real 4 stars hotel.

Dear Stephu2015, thanks for your review; just let me answer te clarify a few things. First of all, we are not authorized by law to turn it on until 7/11/23 and we do respect this not only for environment but also because outside the temperatures are around 21° and moslti of our guest are still using air conditioning. The closet has been realized by a local artisan, we do not have Ikea fornitures in this house. The size of the bathrooms (and in some cases also size of the room) are forced due to the age of the building (XIV century convent) and we are not authorized to make structural changes. I'm glad to inform you that starting from this winter we will star renovation works and will be more than glad to welcome you in the next future to let you appreciate our improvements. Waiting for you back in Florence, best regards Daniele Torrini Resident Manager

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Room was very nice size with large bathroom and a sofa. Breakfast was very good and service was outstanding. Hubby loved the spa service. Our friends had the only room with a small balcony overlooking the street. Rooms on the front of the hotel face a noisy street with a few bars nearby. Every weekend night was disturbed by loud motorcycles or screaming or yelling bar patrons.

This is a boutique hotel and the little quirks are part of the charm. However, security and preparedness is a basic requirement anytime you have the responsibility of guests on premises. The hotel lost power and they didn’t have emergency backup generators. The fire doors work on electrical magnets so when the power went out the fire doors shut and locked you out of the hallway to get back to your room. All the room keys work off electrical power so you couldn’t get back into your room Unrelated to the loss of electricity the fire alarm went off about 15 minutes later. The staff told us there was no fire and it was unrelated, how did they know that? And if it was unrelated to the loss of power doesn’t that point to a fire? Some people left their rooms anyways out of precaution. 1. Someone was locked in the elevator and the emergency keys was mixed in with 100 other keys. They couldn’t identify the correct key because it wasn’t labeled. My friend was a General Motors Plant skilled tradesman/facilities manager and he identified the correct keys for them. 2. The fire doors locked in the hallways so people could exit from the rooms and get out but not back to their rooms. When people were told there was no fire they tried to get back to their rooms to get the passports, phones and shoes/jackets they couldn’t get in. 3. The staff had about 100 hotel keys in a cardboard box and many were mis-labeled so they couldn’t get the hallway fire doors open or guest rooms opened. 3b. One lady left her door cracked and went outside with the rest of the guests only to find her passport, money and all identification stolen. 4. The fire department never showed up to make sure it was a false alarm. The staff never went door to door to make sure people were out or even okay before they knew it wasn’t really a fire. The hotel managers had no clue what to do and they repeated that in 20 years this has never happened. I am a Certified Risk Manager that works in the US insurance industry and I couldn’t believe how unprepared the staff was for an emergency. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. On a positive note the food was great and the wait staff was top notch.

Dear Sirs, here the report on the loss of power in our hotel occured around 8.pm. on 15th october: The Hotel Manager (in my person) and the Maintenance Manager arrived promptly in hotel as soon as blackout. They immediatly run all checks in hotel in order to find the cause of blackout. After this check hotel Staff immediatly informed all clients in hotel that the issue was due to a lack of power caused by Enel Distribuzione the National Company who provides energy to the hotel. The Management arranged immediatly request for external operations to solve the damage and to restore energy in hotel and power was restored with no damage in hotel in about 2 hours time. Hotel staff promptly run all emergency procedures ment for this kind of mergency as per our Safety Emergency Plan. All elevators were stopped, fortunatly no clients were in (only a person of our staff was blocked in lift but was free quickly after emergency manual procedures were over). In fact we would like to underline that as soon as the blackout was on and for all the time of no power in hotel the hotel Emergency Lighting System powered immediatly to guarantee all clients in hotel to be able to move safetly to ground floor area that is a "safe area" as per our Safety Emergency Plan. Our Mantainance Manager, after ckecking no fire risk was on, switched off the Fire System, that went on immediatly, as supposed in case of loss of energy (closing all fire doors to protect from fire risk). Anyway as a "No Power Emergency" was on in hotel the Managment and the hotel Staff asked all clients not to go back in their rooms this for clients safety as per procedure. We offered all our clients, to be much more confortable, to move to our sister Grand Hotel Adriatico (only a few steps from the Rivoli) offering them a drink at the Vespucci Bar to wait power to come back in hotel. Our staff accompanied many of our clients happy to accept our proposal. Mean while for those clients who needed to collect some personal items in their room they were assisted by our porters who went up to their romms ensuring their safety with the clients opening manually room doors. This was hopefully a "no fire risk emergency" but we understand that you may experienced a situation of some trouble, however promptly solved by the hotel, and we furthermore understand also that this emergency may have caused you some discomfort and for that we really apologize. We are sure we did our best to manage this emergency as our commitment is to ensure first of all safety to all our clients and we are sure to say that and no risk was ever on during this emergency, togethter to give the less discomfort to our clients. Best regards Chiara Caridi General Manager

Neat, clean, and well appointed. Another couple stayed there with my wife and I. First, the desk staff was friendly, spoke good English, and gave us wonderful recommendations for dining and more. Our rooms were quite nice, and service was excellent Good breakfast buffet. Good access to the main tourist stops. Close to the train station when we needed to leave. No, you cannot hear the trains. It is very easy to give the Rivoli a great recommendation.

Very good and comfortable hotel. It's located in the middle of the city, right next to the train station, so pretty much everything is at a nice walkable distance ! We stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of the heatwave with 43° and had no problem at all with the AC, it was always nice and cool in the room. The room was very pretty, the bed comfortable, the only downside was that the water from the shower oscillated quite a bit in temperature. The staff was adorable and very helpful - special mention for Julio and the breakfast staff, they gave us amazing service, restaurant recommandations and helped us with museum reservations to skip the lines. Definitely recommend !

Good hotel, especially for couples. Nice and quite. Rooms clean and were cleaned everyday. Really friendly staff. It was also possible to go to the gym. Breakfast was quite average, but for the price it was fine. Hotel is located on a small street but with restaurants and bars. Also very close to center. Perfect location i would say.
