very good hotel to book in Florence, clean and tidy rooms, very helpful and friendly staff, breakfast wasn't the best as in food quality and buffet location, bit of a walk or transportation needed to visit city attractions and shops

We spent two nights at this hotel. It was about 15-20 mins very easy walk from the train station. Room was very spacious. We had a triple room with one queen bed and a sofa bed. Even the sofa bed was comfortable. Room was very clean. Breakfast area (restaurant) was beautiful. Food was also great. The only negative thing about... More

If you are on a business trip, then this is the perfect place for you. it is not in the touristic area yet it is a 15 minutes walk from all attractions. Rooms are well equipped and good space. Breakfast and coffee were perfect.

When we walked in the lobby is was gorgeous. When we walked in our room it was a steam bath. We tried to turn on the ac, with no luck. We called the desk and they said it was turned off for the season. It was so hot we were sweating so bad. We open the windows but between the... More

We stayed 3 nights in October and had a very please experience. The hotel is modern and our bath even had a tub! It was very clean and staff was very pleasant. The bed was very firm but is typical of Europe. I will say the location is not central but its easy to catch the bus right down the... More

Reading another review complaining about the same, I realise I am not the only one who has suffered a sleepless night. The manager answered to that review but they decided to do nothing about it! To the manager : there are those anti mosquito devices that you can plug and last all night, even with the windows open. How come... More

We booked this hotel for four nights for a family trip. The rooms were very fashionable, in an Italian way, and the room service was everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Yet the finish on details was "Italian", meaning that the electric outlets were all a bit crooked, the shower was not the most convenient, and the light... More

A bit noisy. Very modern. Hvac limits how low you can turn temp to 21c. Breakfast was good. Didn't seem to care for American travelers or seemed to have an air about them which is unfortunate in the hospitality industry. Fitness center below par. Wifi access restrictions such as recently of codes and limit of 2 devices per family. In... More

We stayed at the hotel for two days. Room was decent, and breakfast was okay. Staff could have been more friendly, and should try to help customers rather than pointing somewhere else. Wanted a cup of coffee, and the reception staff pointed me to the bar with no staff.

Incredible and so close to town. If you arrive at main train station your 2 stops on the new tram away or within walking distance. this hotel is about 1/2 mile if that from river to walk along it, and only a mile from downtown area of florence. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
