The property is centrally located next to the Duomo. Perfect for arriving by train to Florence with about a 15 min walk from the station. It is the area of Florence I prefer to stay for calling back to the hotel to change or rest up.
The hotel was quiet for being centrally located.
The suites are very well finished with great lighting, luxury bathroom, USB ports and such like.
We stayed over Easter and got left a little Easter cake one morning.
The only downside and it was really only a factor on checking out was that the reception is not regularly manned. We didn’t have anyone around to book us a taxi to the airport or even leave our room keys with. We just ended up leaving them by the desk with monies to cover what we used in the minibar. We had been in and out a couple of times that morning with no one about to arrange check out.
This also meant we didn’t get to use the rooftop. If you are travelling at certain times it must not be open and hot tub not in use. I had emailed before and told that it should be open by the time we travel but on the day we arrived we were told that wasn’t the case. If we wanted to see the rooftop we would have to ask at reception and someone would take us up. Easier said than done. I only mention it because it is commented on as a selling point of the rooftop view so you may not have free access throughout your stay. I suppose there are health and safety issues etc.
With this exception, the building Is lovely, the rooms are beautiful and the view is amazing. I would stay again and have no issue recommending to others.
Ps no breakfast offered at the hotel but so many options in Florence to take advantage of.

We spent two nights at the Donati last week. This is a boutique hotel run by a lovely brother and sister. It is just steps from the Duomo in Florence so you can't pick a more central location for your stay. The rooms are super modern as the property was recently renovated. No detail was overlooked - they even had the pull out bed all set up for our arrival. The owners were very communicative and warm. They love this property and love sharing the experience with others - a must stay if you are in Florence!

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. The hotel is located on a quiet tucked away alley street (very clean, right next to another major hotel) so there was no noise at night. The room itself was extremely spacious and well appointed. We never heard noise from other guests/rooms or the elevator - we slept great every night! Air conditioning worked very well (we are hot sleepers). Nespresso machine was great to have- staff didn’t have any issue bringing us extra pods. I can’t recommend this property enough!

Customer service was appalling, we were meant to have the Jacuzzi on our terrace which was the main reason for booking the room. Upon arrival we were told we couldn't use it due to the weather being rainy because their electrics aren't safe to be used in the rain! I complained and was consistently fobbed off by staff and management. We were never advised before arriving we might not have full use of the facilities and the jacuzzi was the main reason for paying so much for this suite.
They will also try to rip you off for any additional services, I asked for a quote for them to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport, which they advised would be £100. I just sourced my own taxi and it was £35!, I don't mind a markup but 150% is a joke..

Dear Guest, We are sorry to read your negative comment, which does not accurately reflect our property. Please note that during winter, temperatures can be quite low, and when it rains or in other similar weather conditions, the outdoor pools—if not covered—can be dangerous. As the pools operate with electricity, you can understand that we do not want to put our guests at risk by allowing them to use an electrical device in the rain. It would be like using a hairdryer during a storm... don't you think? Additionally, no one ever intended to "steal" or "cheat" you, as you have stated. Such a comment is an insult to our good intentions. The €100 quote was given because you had requested a private transfer, which naturally costs more than a regular taxi. Your review will be reported as it contains inappropriate language directed towards us. Best regards, Management

We've had a perfect short stay in this historic tower dating back to the 12th century, beautifully renovated into magnificent modern and comfortable suites while keeping the heritage touch, high ceilings, stone walls and wood ceilings. Very centrally located, can be reached by car with a valet service for parking but no F & B. However this is not an issue because it is surrounded by many restaurants. Friendly and welcoming staff. The only negative comment comes from people shouting in streets at night but maybe that was just bad luck that day (night). Strongly recommended.

A real gem in the middle of Florence. We stayed in the Giotto suite which had beautiful views of the Duomo from both the living room and bedroom. The unit has a second bathroom with a shower which was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We scheduled drivers to the hotel and to the train station for our trip and both drivers were great. I would definitely stay again.

Spectacular experience from start to finish. I have to believe the two negative reviews are pre-renovation because nothing describes resembles the hotel we stayed at.
We stayed in the Giotto suite which looks directly out on the Duomo. If you want to go to a luxury hotel, pay for the luxury! That’s my motto anyway.
Room perfectly decorated, cleaned every day, with fresh towels and anything else I wanted brought to the room within minutes.
Staff were all extremely helpful and polite, providing recommendations, booking tours and even arranging to have a suitcase shipped home for us. Special thanks to Silvia who was there most days.
It’s true there is nobody there from 9 pm on but they give you a phone number to call if you need anything. They answer and it’s taken care of.
Location! Perfect. Couldn’t ask for more. We walked everywhere and didn’t need any transportation at all, except for the seamless transfer they provide from the train station when you arrive.
I am well travelled and I never write reviews but this one deserves it.

This is the best place we could actually book for our stay in Florence. This is a tower that belonged to the family of Dante Alighieri’s wife. Forget about visiting Dante’s house - if there is a place where Dante definitely had been, this is the one! And completely renovated this is a place to die for. Each room has al the most modern amenities and the shower room is the best. I would’ve spent hours under it.
We had an amazing service and Andrea went beyond any expectations by escorting us to the rooftop - this is possibly the highest rooftop in Florence after Giotto’s bell tower. Amazing!

We stayed at Donati Luxury Tower in mid May and I cannot give enough praises on the experience. For anyone looking into booking this place I cannot recommend this enough. I doubt anyone booking will get many other opportunities in staying on a property with almost a millennium of history like Donati Luxury Tower.
Overall a 5+ star experience, from the friendliness and attention of the staff, to the quality and finishes of the rooms are all top notch. Plus, the location is unbeatable, within walking distance to Florence historical staple locations.
I am excited for staying at Donati Luxury Tower during a future opportunity on my next visit to Florence.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The suites were huge with all the modern touches without taking away from it’s beautiful heritage building. Very clean with nice extras added. The location made it perfect to enjoy everything the Florence has to offer. The valet parking was the perfect touch to ease the check-in and check-out. We would highly recommend this hotel
