Overpriced for what it is. The best thing about this hotel is most definitely the location. The staff is pretty helpful and well trained as well. But that's kind of it. How does a 500euro a night not even have free wifi is beyond me. The flush in the bathroom was also one with very old school plumbing. Would I...

The hotel was wonderful, all the staff was kind, and super attentive. The rooms were well appointed, the free breakfast as part of AMEX rewards was WAY MORE than we could have ever thought of, beyond exceptional. The gym facilities were appropriate. The turn down service was great. Views were amazing. Absolutely couldn't expect anything more or want more! Way...

We recently stayed at the Savoy and have only good things to say about this hotel. Right from the doorman to the reception the staff is very humble, helpful and courteous. We had requested an early check in and our room was ready when we arrived. They frequently checked to see if we needed any assistance with sightseeing, museum visits...

After visiting Cafe Gilli (terrible place) and being ignored for around 20 minutes we just decided to have a drink in the outside area of the SAVOY. What should we say: best choice ever. We didn´t had just 2 drinks - we had 4 at the end of the evening and we were served tasty snacks with bread, olives, creamdips...

Location is wonderful if you like crowds. A must if you are looking for AC before May in Florence. Beds are a bit hard and somewhat uncomfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast is excellent but watch out as there might be extra charges if you order something prepared.

The good: Hotel Savoy has the perfect location. 10 minute walk from almost every attraction in Florence. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bad: we got the deluxe room. The room was uninspiring to say the least. It was little more than bed, TV and bathroom. And even the hallways and the lobby were just, meh. My other...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. We were all so very pleased to read your compliments. Thank you. Disappointed that our style of decoration was not to your liking, I would like to share with you that our design has been carefully chosen to create a sense of understated elegance within the public spaces and guest rooms. The service is outstanding. Anything my family needed was taken care of. If we went back to Florence - we would go back. The restaurant is very good. It is expensive, and you do get charged for everything, but the experience was terrific. I recommend highly!

We arrived on the 2nd April (PM) and the porter (did not catch his name) who brought our suitcase to the room was very helpful and continued with an excellent service throughout our stay. The room was very nice and very clean although a little over priced. Our room 302 was above the recycling bins which meant there was a...

Thank you for helping to make my 60th birthday so memorable. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met. We were given a lovely room overlooking the Piazza. However being light sleepers we asked if it would be possible to move, this was no problem. When we returned later in the day...

From even before we arrived, we enjoyed attentive service from the concierge. We stayed for four nights in March (19-23). This hotel is central, but we did not find it too noisy. Our room had a view of the Campanile! All staff work so hard, clearly, as a team. Doormen, reception, housekeeping, restaurant ALL deserve praise. Subtle and discreet. Friendly,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
