This is a lovely hotel in a good location. We had a room overlooking the river and it was beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and included eggs. We walked everywhere from the hotel. I didn’t love the shower and the bathroom was a bit dark. But otherwise it’s a great place to stay.
With the kind of service and attention to your needs, the Westin Excelsior and its sister across the street, the St. Regis, can’t be beat. We stayed at the .Westin and our family at the St. Regis. At the Westin, Ambra Basso and Noemi Chiarra were exceptional. At the restaurant, the staff was superb. Elia was very attentive. We can’t recommend these two places enough. When we go back again we plan on a longer stay to renew our friendships and enjoy the Tuscan Sun at the Excelsior!
Such a wonderful hotel. If you are looking for a extremely comfortable hotel with large rooms, great beds and service, this is it. Our room faced the Arno and we enjoyed the view and sunsets. The buffet breakfast cant be beat. Their rooftop bar is a relaxed place to enjoy cocktails and sunset. We enjoyed this stop between our more traditional local hotels. Great location- we walked everywhere
Our first visit here was 5 years ago and was perfect. Back again…. And like a fine wine, it gets better with time. The Westin Excelsior is fantastic. The hotel is beautiful. The staff is amazing. The Conceriege desk (Salvadore and team) were able to get us hard to find soccer tickets to a big game. Just perfect experience…. And we are here. Thanks again to Naomi C. who is in charge. We will always come back to the property.
Stayed here twice on our vacation in Italy. Decor was great, very classic, gave you that "Grand Hotel" feeling. Location was excellent, right on the river with great views, close to the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Lots of nearby restaurants and cafes. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Ate at the onsite restaurant for breakfast, great buffet, but not cheap. Rooftop bar was nice, great view of the city, good service. Rooms were really nice, roomy, very comfortable bed, clean and well maintained daily. Room had a safe, TV, hairdryer, fridge, chairs and desk. Great for holiday or business with good wi-fi. This hotel was a highlight of our vacation, worth the price we paid to treat ourselves to some luxury!!
OMG! This is one of the most beautiful and best hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life. The decors, the elegance of the rooms and common areas is breathtaking but the workers in this hotel, elevate the bar for outstanding customer service! The stars of this hotel are its hard working and professional workers. In the Front Desk Constanza and Victoria (the new addition to this team) made our welcoming memorable. Super friendly, given, knowledgeable and always at your service. Can you ask for more?? Also, Salvatore and Daria made also our stay memorable with their customer service expertise. If I own a hotel, the will be the people running it!! They all stars!! At the door, the handsome and professional Daniele was outstanding. Always caring and super attentive and friendly!! The terrace of this hotel where the restaurant has the most amazing and complete view of the entire city. You don’t need to climb the Duomo!! Stay at this hotel and you will have the city at your feet. In the restaurant, Elena, Julia and Lorenzo were the stars and gave us an unforgettable evening with their amazing care and service. The breakfast buffet has the most delicious choices and it’s servers/cooks are top notch. Treat yourself when you come to Florence. This is THE BEST hotel in town!!!…
We just returned from Christmas holiday with our daughter at the Westin Excelsior and, being fortunate enough to travel the world and stay at amazing resorts and city hotels, I have to say that the Westin Excelsior and everyone that is a part of it make this establishment outstanding. From the impeccable front desk to the highly professional and knowledgeable concierge team to the hostess for breakfast and the management team on the rooftop bar the Westin Excelsior is the way a five star, top-notch resort/hotel should be run. They are the true definition of excellence.. Our rooms were spacious, clean, updated and true perfection.. Till next year same time same place we wish all of the staff a happy healthy and safe new year.. R & S Stone
Stayed (6) nights in Florence. The rooms, staff, concierge, breakfast were all outstanding. The attention to detail was impeccable and rivals the 5 star hotels in Asia. That is what really surprised me by the entire Westin Excelsior staff. The workers truly take pride in their job and it shows. As a guest, can’t say more than thank you for the experience and service…… Nothing but gratitude to the Westin Excelsior Florence staff. Recommend this hotel to anyone wanting first class treatment. Regards, Michael Woo
“Bonjourno” Thank you Stephano and Westin staff for making our renaissance visit so inviting. Check in and check out with ease. Walk through historic Florence, gaze up through Brunelleschi’s Duomo, stroll along the Arno, traverse the Ponto Vecchio, view the vista from the perch of Piazzale Michelangelo. All these landmarks walkable from the hotel. Spacious rooms wrapped in luxury. Bathrobes, slippers, shower and bath. Quiet spaces and comfortable beds. Most memorable breakfast buffet with food galore and attentive staff. And don’t forget to visit the rooftop bar for panoramic views.
Quieter location next to the river with views of Florence. Not in the middle of the tourist area yet 5-10 minute walk from it. 10 minute walk from the train station, easy walk if you don't have tons of luggage. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member but was disappointed at the lack of detail you expect from a property like this. We booked for 3 people, checked in online and room was ready but upon arrival even though the room was ready it was not set up for 3 people. No third bed, glass, wine glass, towels, robe l, slippers etc. We were tired from a long trip so having the third bed set up would have allowed us to rest sooner so we could start sightseeing. Bed was set up after a couple of phone calls but it altered our plans to maximize our day. Spacious room with living room, 2 tvs, desk, small fridge, safety deposit box but no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room, hot water has to be requested from room service. Spacious bathroom with shower, tub, bidet and 2 sinks. Aside from the lack of detail the service was good from the concierge staff to the dining staff. Beautiful property but disappointed…
