My sister recommended we stay at Residenza Il Carmine and her advice was spot on! The apartments are run by a lovely friendly family who are very accommodating! The apartments were comfy, clean, well appointed and the atmosphere simply wonderful! We sat out in the relaxing in the beautiful garden and rooftop at night and felt very much at home.... More

Residenza Il Carmine is set in a great location in Florence, ideal for walking everywhere and run by a lovely friendly family who could not do enough for us. The garden rooms are very well appointed and quiet with a roof terrace which is ideal for quiet sun-downers. There were fruit, meat and juices in our room on arrival and... More

We chose Residenza Carmine at the recommendation of a friend who has stayed there multiple times--we didn't even explore other options! I can wholeheartedly concur that this is an excellent buy, for less than the cost of a tiny hotel room we stayed in a spacious studio apartment. The apartment (we were in Incenso, but they all are similar) looks... More

We have stayed at Residenza Carmine three times and each of these visits gave us many reasons to rebook when we are in Florence again. Our first accommodations were in the extra roomy Domus in the main building - and subsequently twice in the Incenso which is the perfect cozy size for the two of us. For eight days in... More

My sister and I took our first trip to Italy to celebrate her 40th birthday. While visiting Florence, we wanted the local experience. We booked the Domus apartment, and were completely amazed when we arrived. This is an absolute hidden gem; the outside entrance leaves much to the imagination. One you step inside, you are taken back in time to... More

Three of us shared the very large Domus apartment. All the space and facilities you could want including access to a garden and a rooftop terrace. Easy walking to the many good restaurants on this side of the river without having to venture near the tourist traps. And it has an authenticity about it when the owners live in the... More

This was our first trip to Italy and staying at Rezidenza Il Carmine was a highlight of the trip. We stayed in the Domus apartment for 6 nights. It was spectacularly beautiful. It felt like we had stepped back in time and were living a fairytale. It was tranquil and peaceful, with doors opening onto a green courtyard and the... More

This was our second time staying at Residenza Il Carmine and once again, the beauty, serenity and enchantment of this incredible home is a treat for the senses. We stayed in the Mirra apartment and have also stayed in Incenso and Domus. Do stay if you want to be part of the fabric that makes Florence the spectacular, moving and... More

My husband and I rented the Domus for 4 nights recently. Caterina met us at the door and showed us to our beautiful apartment. I loved being able to sit out in the garden and read. The place is out of the touristy area but a short walk to everything. Highly recommend staying here. I hope someday I get to... More
