St Regis Florence is a fabulous hotel, restored to its correct decor. Location overlooking the Arno river is very convenient. River- view rooms are fabulous and spacious. The staff spares no effort to please and the butler service is outstanding

I cannot say enough positive things about the St. Regis. It is an elegant property, perfectly located and staffed by wonderful people. Each room has a different theme with a unique name (Uffizzi, Medici etc) and is sumptuously decorated. The well equipped bathrooms boast a television in the mirror. Butler service is a benefit of some rooms, bringing such perks... More

We arrived via train and when we got to the hotel we were upgraded to a Suite. Not just any Suite but one that came with a Butler. We had our bags unpacked, clothes pressed, shoes shined and when we left and we hated to leave our bags were packed. I could tell you about all of the other reasons... More

The hotel lobby is modern and elegant. The doorman, concierge, and folks at reception are very friendly, helpful, approachable and nice. Our room, on the third floor, didn't have a view but was very large and well decorated. It was a little over the top but ,when in Rome. The bed was very comfortable with soft sheets, full pillows and... More

After staying so many times in FS, decided to change with St. Regis and never regretted- first, the location is better with the views of the river; second, the property has more authentic atmosphere and decoration, third, far more quiet and calm. Combine that with the quick and unobtrusive service and you'll get the most relaxed vacation in Florence.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
